exploded a partridge today! What have you hit?
Discussion
I exploded a partridge this morning on the M40 (pretty sure it was French, not English). Left a nice bloody smear right in the middle of the screen and I was convinced it was going to join me in the car. Thankfully the screen survived, which surprised and disappointed me a little, I was already planning supper.
What have you hit and got away with?

I have hit 2 deers
Both times took out my ac condenser.
My mrs hit a pheasant, ruined the grill of my car but luckily the intercooler was OK (well, dented).
Animals are sods.
Pheasants are big buggers. I had one fly into the driver side door of my old defender and it left a nice dent. Both times took out my ac condenser.

A guy at a company I used to work with came back one day with a company car with the entire front of the roof caved into a V-shape, bent down about 12 inches, windscreen smashed ofc.
He claimed he'd hit a pigeon.
He got endless ribbing for that but he stuck to his story no matter what

Hit a deer up near Audley End.
Pitch black November evening about 6.15 driving home from work, then BANG! This fking creature is in view on the driver's side coming from the left.
Not a chance to see it, let alone brake.
Stopped as did the car behind to get the stricken thing out of the road and saw a bone sticking out if its leg. Calmed it down for a couple of minutes and went to call the police then it just up and leapt over the nearby hedge.
£1400 Worth of damage to the front, lights, bonnet and wing of the car.
Freaked me right out!

Nothing bigger than various birds and rabbits. We had a pigeon head-butt the upstairs window on the camper at 65mph a few years back - double-glazed plastic, and it smashed the interior pane, but not the exterior...
I once had a pigeon on the m'way at about <cough> cruise altitude. It got the passenger side headlight, in a massive explosion of feathers - the bike courier that had been right up my chuff was about 100m back when the cloud cleared... I was expecting to find the corpse in the smashed remains of the light, but there was just a small smear of blood and birdst on the lens and corner of the bonnet.
Most recent was a second-hand pigeon last week - it shot across the road, hit a car coming the other way, which bounced it into mine. Oh, and a squirrel last week. One down, far too many to go.
SWMBO has done a better job, hitting a deer with a borrowed 2cv in rural California, which took out the bonnet and cooling fan - then the bd ran off. Luckily, there was a Citroen guy with a spare fan in the next town... The car clearly decided it liked the taste of blood - it was written off a year or two later after hitting a very-free-range horse that leapt over a hedge into the road.

I had to recover a morris marina that had hit a swan .
It mistook a road for a river and took out the bonnet , front screen, roof and rear screen .
The occupants were unhurt but not the swan who was put down by a vet .
A guy that I worked with at my first job had his Morris OXford written of by a bull one night , his name was OXborough and he was a butcher . He saw the bull in the headlights and stopped and switched his lights off , 30 seconds later BANG the bull had charged the car and part of the bodywork sliced open its head and neck , end of the bull and the car .
My dad was a passenger in a brand new MK5 Cortina estate travelling back to camp in Germany when a large deer came over the guardrail on the autobahn writting the car off .
Working in a bodyshop we had loads of stuff in that had hit various animals including a volvo 740 that had been sat on by a horse and LR Discovery that had been bitten in several places by a horse .

My very first motorised crash was on a Puch Maxi moped at the tender age of 16. I hit a rabbit with my front wheel and I braked while the wheel was on top of the rabbit. Front wheel slid away from me and I ended up with some serious grazes...not as bad as the rabbit though.
I managed to severely knacker the front wishbone on a Fiat Brava running over a scuttling badger, the badger just kept going off into the wilderness as if I'd never touched it.
I hit a duck which took off from a pond just as I was passing. It came through the windscreen of my Sherpa pickup and splattered itself against the rear of the cab. It ended up writing off the Sherpa as the metal at the edge of the windscreen was bent and we couldn't get it straight enough to fit a new screen without it cracking within a couple of days.
I hit an adult roe deer with my mk4 golf at 70mph. I sort of went over it though and there was no visible damage to the Golf although the deer was minced.
Still got a scar on my leg from being knocked off my Maico 500 by a horse which had been grazing at the side of a country lane about 35 years ago. I slowed down to pass it quietly, sneaked past, then opened the throttle to pull away. Too soon... it reared up and kicked me off the bike and down the road.

Saw a little old lady take out a sheep over the Clee Hills a few weeks back. She dragged it off the road without hesitation. Country folk don't mess about.
I found a dead bird lodged in the grill of my first car, a Pug 106, one morning. Didn't even know I'd hit it. Probably had the music up too loud to notice
