got to be Sky Q and the innovative progress they are making.
GPS is pretty good as well, map books in cars a thing of the past.
Smart phones are amazing but i hate the way they are used especially by younger generation, nobody speaks
face to face anymore - restaurants, bars, planes, cars, trains - they sit down and out comes the phone and head down.

As above... YouTube.
The over 50's will remember having only the BBC and ITV - if you're into music (which I am), you never saw Zappa, Steely Dan, Weather Report, the Eagles, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Supertramp.... etc etc Now, it's all on tap - as much as you want whenever you want it. It never ceases to amaze me actually. Same with Spotify - immediate music.
When I was a teenager, there was the Old Grey Whistle Test and that was it. Coming from a little town in Devon, concerts were unheard of.
Also it's very handy for seeing a video of how to drain your washing machine or fix the boiler!
Smart phones of course... couldn't live without one.

This is going to sound pathetic to millennials - but when I first used my apple earbuds, I had to stop for a minute and just recognise the fact that I was streaming music off the internet over 4G into my phone in my bag and this was broadcasting to these tiny speakers in my ears. 13 year old me would have DREAMED of that.
The other key moment for me was around 2000 when I walked home whilst having a phone conversation with someone on a beach in Europe.

Sky Plus is so 2016. Get Sky Q, grandad!
Digital storage for me. 128gb micro SD, has 10K family pics, 9 hours of family HD video, tonnes of other stuff, and it's not yet half full. The size of my little finger nail!
Yup. Storage in general. I have a laptop for travel with about 40 games, 1500 films and 2000 books on it. Digital storage for me. 128gb micro SD, has 10K family pics, 9 hours of family HD video, tonnes of other stuff, and it's not yet half full. The size of my little finger nail!
A few years back that would've required a van to follow me around.

It's also bloody cheap. in circa 1983 the bloke I was working for got a gigabyte hard drive for his Mac. Cost him best part of three grand. I recently bought 4,096 gigs for about a hundred quid.A few years back that would've required a van to follow me around.
Blank CDs for my first CD writer cost £30 each!

I doubt it was a gigabyte. According to this link the first gigabyte drive was only made in 1980, cost USD 80k and I don’t think it was designed for a PC! I don’t think things progressed that quickly in 3 years. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_hard_di...Blank CDs for my first CD writer cost £30 each!
Google... having any fact just seconds away, not having to go to the library to look it up.
Modern games that look real,no more blobs or dots on a screen. Although some will say that comes at the expense of decent gameplay.
It certainly comes at the expense of size...I've just spent ages downloading 100 GB of stuff for a game!!!!

I am too young at 48
But,
Internet banking, fantastic.
Youtube, what did we do before, anything you can think of, I think we just used to not know stuff before, you asked your parents, they might have known a couple of facts or you went to the library, now, withing ten seconds you have everything you could ever watch, read or listen to.
Oculus Rift VR headset, only had it a week, its awesome
Google Earth/Maps/Streetview, revisit old places, go somewhere before you go to get the lay of the land, a fantastic achievement and in VR with the 3D places, jaw dropping.
Iphone, brilliant bit of kit
Sky Q, really slick and having the mini box in another room is great.
Sat Nav, a life saver and stress reducer
Internet movie streaming like Netflix, no more faffing with video cassettes or DVD's
Spotify, god I love Spotify, no cocking about with CD's which rattle round the car, fancy listening to something, just type it in, all the family have access for £15 a month, my missus used to stick CD's in the shopping regularly, this is way cheaper !
Internet shopping, I know its killing the high street but you know what, things change,no waiting to weekend or some other window of opportunity, no parking and traipsing round for something specific, like a cable and they dont have one "Could try Tandys" and get bounced round, go on eBay or Amazon, order it any time of day or night and it arrives very soon, however obscure.
Modern games consoles, I get misty eyed about retro gaming, but by and large they were pretty lame, good fun but you look at masterpieces like Forza Horizon 4 and Read Dead Redemption you soon forget Space Invaders and Pac Man.
Feel lucky to have all this, I know people moan about it, but would they really give it up ?

Sat Nav for me... oh wait I’m 41. Never mind, I’m a bit Luddite ish.
I’ll drive anywhere as long as I have it to tell me exactly where to go. Tunnels though are their nemesis... it all went tits up in the tunnels around Boston airport, but got there in the end after much stress!
Good one. Especially when your passenger doest want to drive (or has had one over the eight) and cannot read maps. Wish I had a sat nav many years ago, must have saved more marriages than Relate.I’ll drive anywhere as long as I have it to tell me exactly where to go.
