They say that a watched kettle never boils.
This is patently absolute bks!
It's the only way to make certain that some bugger doesn't come along and unplug it to use another appliance, or worse still, use all the water you were going to use to make yourself a nice cuppa.
The Trivial Towers Sayings Committee looked at this and rewrote it after hours of debate in a compromise decision as A Watched Pot Rarely Boils. This is patently absolute bks!

I'm sensing a disturbance in the Robbo household, did some as yet unnamed reprobate take your freshly boiled water???
Not at this particular time Bobbers. Although it has been known to happen in the past. No, I was just waffling whilst Nij was waffling about waffling whilst waiting for his kettle to boil:

Now I'm beginning to wonder if his kettle did indeed come to the boil?
He hasn't reported back that his kettle containing an undisclosed amount of water contents has indeed successfully attained 100°C / 212°F.
I find this failure somewhat disturbing and upsetting to my finely balanced sensibilities.
( He also did not specify whether his kettle is metric or Imperial.
I am of course assuming the latter, what with Nij being a Gentleman and everything. )

ION of a gastronomic nature, this evening I am creating a new experimental dish:
Le casserole de poulet roulé au jambon avec le Pudding Noir de Bury et moutard Anglais,
aux vegetales mediterranée, haricots verts et pommes de terre.
Votre chef de ce soir: glenrobbo
Et la boisson pour l'accompagné:
YUM!

A gentlemen never tells Glenners, but being a gentleman you already know that . He hasn't reported back that his kettle containing an undisclosed amount of water contents has indeed successfully attained 100°C / 212°F.

Too much outdoor stuff done today, can't be arsed to hit the town or party like it's 1949, so a nice evening in with 'Inspector Montalbano' and his battered little FIAT shall suffice. Town's full of kids and hipsters anyway, bah humbug, yoof of today etc, etc.

Currently watching Masterchef, yeah that's right, we know how to live!!!
Pfft, Lady Slopes and i really do know how to live, we are watching a helimed type programme.I know right, we probably should ease up on the excitement but it's rivetting - well not literally rivetting, even though that might be fun to watch - and i for one can't not watch.
That's how to really live
Oooh Oooh Oooh, i nearly forgot....Lady Slopes and i were out having a wander around parts of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire earlier and during a gentle drive from one place to the next, a Fezza 275GTB went past in the opposite direction
I do love the shape of those and if i were a rich man....*wanders off into an impression of Topol*...i would have one in my garage
