A lovely, red Alfa 75, on BBS cross-spoke type split rims passed in the opposite direction on the way to work this morning. I was deeply, profoundly moved by the sight. Needed to tell someone who might understand.

As you were.
Classic cars, technical details, trivia, emotion and shared experience.

You came to the right place.

smile

If you had somehow incorporated Lego and commumal living in a semi derelict Second War RAF Station you'd have had the full house.

It's showing as a 9 at the moment on the old machine. I'll have another look when the valves are fully warmed up.
9 indeed. Thank you. Was a great way to glide into the weekend.

This morning was a bit more Monday mundane; a (also red) Giulia Quadrifoglio in almost the same place. A nice enough motor, but not a 75.

Our phones are out of contract in August so I'm currently trying to decide what to replace them with, Huawei are looking favourite at the moment, but we'll see what sort of deals they have, Samsung as we have now are getting expensive!!
In place of my old Samsung S7 I took an A5. Pretty much the only thing I miss is the screen rotate. You can upgrade more or less to S spec with apps but I didn't even buy the screen rotatey thingy bobby.

Bermondsey, I have no idea why but I like the name, I don't think I've ever been there and am unlikely to ever go.
I think at this stage of the thread we need a spot of inconsequential trivia - Michael Caine is probably the only good thing to come out of Bermondsey...

Bonus trivia : his brother Stanley in the pic above had a bit part in 'The Italian Job' wink

More trivia next week, probably!

Can someone please explain the rules here.

Is this like playing Mornington Crescent?

The only stations I know are Sandwell, Coseley and Tipton.

scratchchin Which of those two items do you intend to do first, young Bobbers?

Also I have to say that I find it disgraceful to return from my jolly jaunt to one of Welsh Wales' finest castells to find the thread abandoned and unloved and languishing.on page 2 with a load of jaded topics on their way into oblivion.
Didn't any of you hear the warning klaxons? Do any of you care one jot?

No I didn't think so... rolleyes

You'll notice I got the trivia gauge slightly off centre. Research indicated this was the correct procedure for TVR build quality traditions to help make it look authentic.
May I commend you on your magnificent work and diligence. It will blend perfectly with the other original TVR gauges and the dashboard sundial.
Thanks, Dicky, I am well chuffed. thumbupcloud9

To answer your question glenrobbo, it's quite difficult to "go mad" when you've been there for some time!!!! spin
I did indeed wash the windows, and the doors, and the window sills, and the sofits, and me, and the Rover, and inadvertently the side way too!!!! smile

Bobbers, he's had a few,
But then again, too few to mention.
He did all he had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
He planned his daily chores
He washed the windows and every doorway
And then, much more than this:

music "He did the siiiiiiiiiiiiideway!"

wink

I’ve just switched from Sure for men to Dove Sensitive Skin. The applicators are remarkably similar in size and colour. I had to laugh this morning when I picked up the Dove one by mistake.

I'm in the hangar having a proper look at Grandbomma's scooter, there's a bit of a problem with the brake on the back wheel. Shouldn't take too much longer, hopefully.

I did pop out this afternoon to buy some milk and tea bags and came home with a Honda Fireblade.

Please don't tell me I'm a loony, I'm aware of that. Dr Gleadle has it all down on record.

Dr Gleadle mentioned organ failure. He's decided the show can go on using the upright piano in the Tap Room of the White Line and Cat's Eye. We can get the audience in easily if ticket sales continue at their current rate. More than five we're in trouble. Perhaps Lawrence of Arabia was a bit ambitious but, you know, respect to the Trivton Players for attempting it.

Don't pretend you don't know. What did you think the davits you are making were for, precisely? Hmmm?

Motorbike size davits for the back of Bomma's car? Yes, what could they be for?

I mean, come on.

It's one like this, old chap.

I can't really ride it very fast, I'm certainly no Carl Fogarty. It does get a good shift on though.

Gleadle wants to see me in the morning, by the way. He wants to refer me to the Upper Trivton Psychiatric Unit.

Thanks old boy, I'm really quite pleased with it smile

I'm far from a leather clad biker type, much more of a jeans and T shirt sort of chap really. I'm going to treat myself to some proper gear though, just in case I come off the bloody thing. Which is highly probable, given my motorcycling ability.

I'll more than likely sell the whole issue by the end of the summer, just 'livin the dream' for a few months.

Mid life crisis I suppose, God help us. Please don't tell Gleadle I said that though, he thinks I'm suffering from a nasty knock on the head.
