I can’t say yet, I’ll reveal all at some stage. It’s 1000,00,0,000 posts soon and the pinnacle of my not being in short trousers any more.
And I have to tell you, young fellow, that as momentous as it is to reach five figures, it's a hell of a long way to six.

A spokesman for Pushfit has suggested that in a Drive Towards Neatness our hero on 9,999 posts in 47 months may wait 53 months before posting anything else in order to arrive at the doors of the 100 Club with precisely 10,000 posts.

This is more the sort of thing I had in mind!!

But at around £1000 it's out of my price range!!
Cheaper to buy a second hand trailer and put the car on that.

Some of the idiots professionals I work with have made several suggestions as to how I can support the car during the suspension overhaul, these include but are not limited to, roll it on it's side, wedge some timber under it, back it off a parapet and my personal favourite so far, jack it up and stick the Rover under it!!!!! smile

My way, which can be seen as long winded, is to jack up one side, support the car that side somewhere other than the jacking point, probably with an axle stand and a block of wood, Jack up the other side, again support that side away from the jacking point, remove the jack, build a static support with two car ramps bearing a baulk of timber that spans under both jacking point and is as tight under the jacking points as you can get. Then jack the car enough to remove the axle stands and lower it on to your model of the Forth Bridge you just made. Bingo, all clear.

But you know all this anyway.

Similar to what i'll end up doing but using axle stand with a block on top rather than ramps!!

nono Overly complicated.

In Liverpool and Manchester they just use four piles of stolen bricks when they want to nick a nice set of alloys.
Either that or they just nick the whole car. wink

My way is more stablererer than yours.

The ramps in my scheme are side by side not end to end.

Today is a good day despite a lack of sleep, the lashing rain and ongoing Parliamentary faux pahs unfolding down south, forsooth, squires, for this very day I have sold one of my Minis and it is being collected tomorrow.... huzzah and all that! This means that the last eighteen months or so of melancholyjojful daydreaming, bumtingling prevarication and incessant online car ad perusing might actually turn into a proper purchase of something old, shiny and (with a bit of luck) a bit special. Funny how things workout sometimes, this week I've managed to sell some railway memorabilia, magazines, books and other bit's 'n' bobs that have been lying around the house for several years. Talk about cathartic... so what should I buy...? A Lotus 'breadvan' Europa...? Marcos 3 litre GT...? Jensen Interceptor...? Citroen SM...? Or maybe I should just go back to square one and plump for one of the two very tasty P5B Coupes I've been offered….rotate

Buy a nice TVR S Series

Preferably one that's had a proper body-off chassis restoration.

Do we know anyone who has ever driven a Marcos?

A 3 litre Marcos is on my list just below a TVR Vixen (or Tuscan). But I've never met anyone with whom to have the Marcos driving position, performance, roadholding, handling, reminiscing, grinning, arm waving conversation.
