Afternoon all.
I am warming up nicely after a very cold and wet day yesterday followed by a cold and wet evening in a tent.
I took wife, daughter and daughters friend to an extremely soggy Carfest North. It was my wifes first ever trip camping and we had to cope with properly biblical monsoon weather. We went on friday and had a nice warm afternoon and evening, but just as we finished breakfast yesterday it started raining and kept going til about 5pm. Then around midnight it started again but about 3 times as hard as it had been.We were meant to be staying there tonight too but it was just a non starter with the rain we had already had and all the rain forecast for today.
Music was good though and we saw some lovely cars and I got to drive a traction engine around a field which was pretty cool

After yesterday’s hammer enabled motorbike repair I have been out to the garage and tried the motorbike to see if it will start.
Pleased to report that bike functioned perfectly and the hammer stayed in the tool chest.
Do I put it all back together properly now or wait until just before the MOT on Wednesday?

You know full well that when you put it back together it'll go wrong!!!
The last time we put the Lagonda back together it didn't have any brakes and we've been using an old anchor for "slowing" and "cornering", when glenrobbo put the Sunderland back together it was missing a pontoon and we had to duck tape one of the old rowing boats in it's place, now I'm not saying that they're not serviceable enough but it wouldn't look good turning up for your MOT still trying to fix it would it?!?!?

That reminds me, if anyone does need to board the Sunderland for any reason, could you have a good look around inside it please?

Just that the last time we had prolonged rain like this, Lionel took shelter in it. Fast asleep in the nose turret, he was sleep

Trivial Mini Cooper related post ahoy : a mate has just brought this to my attention on ebay, a '69 Mk2 Cooper that's nine numbers away from my own Mk2 S 'WMU 211G' and I'd lay odds on it being sold by the same North London Stewart & Ardern dealership, mine was the same colour too originally... well I never...!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MORRIS-MINI-COOPER/2332...

If I really wanted another Mini I'd be tempted, but it needs work and I'm after something a bit more swanky and special. Funny old world isn't it?

Ooh bugger, time for bed, on at 01.25 tomorrow... wobble

I wonder if we could procure a traction engine for the new volume?

I'm not entirely sure what we'd use it for, no doubt we'll think of something.

Excellent David Bailey style work there chaps, much appreciated.

This just in from the Trivtonshire Railway Archive(tm), I've had a tidy up in the garage (minor shuffling about to redistribute some dust more like) and dug out my old BR leather driver's kit bag to see if it's still usable, I might start using it again, the dear old thing has probably done more miles than the wee purple Cooper S, it smells a bit musty though...

Nij, I notice your thing dangling from your bag... wink
I have a couple of those loco keys somewhere. Handy things to have if I miss the last bus home. wink

I see your driver's kit bag and raise you this:

Oh yeah! bowtiecool

"Free home delivery":
Handy if you're thinking of relocating your stately pile.
