It's also mildly amusing watching people jump through the hoops for Offspring's raffle of the TS1.

To enter the raffle you have to...

1. You can only collect the TS1's from Offspring, London, if you win.
2. Take a photo of the Jordan's you'll be wearing when you go to pickup your TS1's, if you win.
3. You MUST wear the Jordan's in the photo when you pickup your TS1's, if you win.
4. In your photo you MUST have a handwritten note with your Instagram name.
5. The handwritten note MUST also have '9th May 2019' written on it.
6. In the description of your photo, you MUST include 3 facts about Jordan brand.
7. In the description of your photo, you MUST include the hashtag #offspringhqtravisscott plus the size you want, e.g. #offspringhqtravisscott9 for size 9 or #offspringhqtravisscott85 if you want 8.5

F*ck off? Seriously? Seriously, f*ck off?

They could offer a package of Breds, Chicagos, Shattered Backboards, Origin Story, Gold Toes, Chameleons and Fragments with less qualifiers than that and they could still f*ck off. Yet, people are doing it! There are over 150 entries for each size! IT'S MENTAL.
It's crazy. I used to think the tag 3 friends in the comments and re-post this photo was annoying but the things people are expected to do now is insane. It'll get worse so long as people participate.

The Travis Scott's but I should've said wrong way round, not upside down.
See i dont give about the Travis Scott connection, indeed up until this release i had never heard of him. I have however been waiting for some jordan 1’s to buy that i like the look of and these fit the bill. Poss not the best reason to buy such a limited release and hopefully if i do get a win i am taking a pair off of a reseller not a fan!

I had to Google him when this whole thing kicked off. Literally no idea.

8. You have to go to London to collect them, that would take me a couple of hours round trip and cost me additional £20.

That's exactly the reason you should buy them; because you like the look of them! That should only ever be the reason people buy them.

Normally i agree but with a release so limited i can see why people with an affiliation to Mr Scott should get a look in too, and would want the trainer in spite of the looks.

I have a Gibson Les Paul Mark Knopfler. I had no need for it as already have a couple of Les Pauls both of which look better and at least one of which in my eyes plays better. I definitely would not of bought it without the Knopfler link but this was enough to make me buy it and I’m sad to say hang it on a wall to play very rarely.

I posted ages ago about this lacing system on the Vapormax Utilitys.
Someone posted a link to where I could buy something similar for other shoes. Can anyone remember where it was?

I have to admit, entered the Offspring raffle (as well as pretty much every other that I could find online). Normally would avoid the hoops that Offspring make people go through but on the other hand, they do seem to be doing the most to avoid resellers grabbing their hands on pairs. May make a sneaker entry only account on IG to accommodate!

The point is to create a scenario whereby resellers aren’t the ones who get them. I like the effort Offspring in particular put into it...rather than End or SNS or the crappy horrible Sneakrs which limit one raffle entry per account - and the bots just take care of that for you. Selling to fans and not resellers in a market where the original seller doesn't have a second hand market bubble is the right way to do things, and all the while creating a loyal base (it also took less time than registering on the SNS app). I for one will try them all...see what happens. If I cop some cool, if not thats cool too, but I won't be paying overs to a reseller - which is way beyond any of the 8 points mentioned above.

I think some of you are being a wee bit hypocritical. On one hand, you vociferously bemoan the existence of resellers, yet when a company goes out of their way to make it hard for resellers to buy stuff, you're calling bullst.

Ok, I agree, some of the aspects is a bit much, but the idea is sound, imo. You can't have it both ways smile

Defeating resellers isn't an easy thing to do. In fact, verging on impossible. So the next best thing is to create hoops, as offspring have done here.

Edit: I've just re-read the list of hoops and on reflection, I'm not seeing anything that actually makes it difficult for resellers, only bots.

Ok, I take it back. Call bullst all you like biggrin

Allow me smile

These types of entry stop bots dead in their tracks but they don't stop resellers. From what I've seen in the Sneakers Discord, this is no barrier to resale. If anything, resellers love these barriers smile

The barrier would be just as effective against bots with far more sensible criteria.
