I actually really like them
I'd never spend the money on them, regardless of how much if it I had.
Precisely. I don't view these as really being a part of sneaker culture. I'm sure materials are very, very nice but that doesn't make it a 2k sneaker. This is like those twots who cover an Aventador in crystals; not so much a car as an overt display of wealth and lack of taste.I'd never spend the money on them, regardless of how much if it I had.
You've broadly got two camps -
Those who just like sneakers, regardless.
Those who only focus on the "hype" stuff, and for whom sneakers are almost a status symbol.

Sneaker culture is now pretty fragmented, imo.

I get your point but I'd say that sneaker culture is still sneaker culture but hype culture contains an element of sneakers. Again, this is something I see several times a day on the sneakers Discord. You've broadly got two camps -

"Should I buy <whatever>?"
"If you like <whatever>, you should buy <whatever>. If you don't like <whatever>, you shouldn't buy <whatever>."
"What do you think of <whatever>?"
"I like <whatever>."
"So I should buy them then?"
<sigh>
Hypebunnies need to be told what to like. Sneakerheads buy whatever they like.

Yet youd probably get into all the places Bing goes in them though, yet if you rocked up in a normal pair of J1's - sorry sir, wrong shoes ;-)Picked these up in the recent sales:
Quite comfy but not as comfy as the Mars 270.
Managed to tread on a nail 1 day into ownership, thinking id absolutely fked them as a result - looks like the sole is self sealing and no pressures been lost.
Also picked up the black Mars 270's, nice material, but excess glue in places kinda spoils it. Sure i could colour the glue but that defeats the object

That's twice now (I think) that you've commented on the QC of the Mars 270s.
Pretty rubbish for a shoe with a 140 quid RRP.
Ah yeah, the other time was the quality of the leather and how it seemed to be on a backing board and other piss poor stitching. These blacks, don't seem to have this issue and the fabric is more black suede sort of thing but due to being black, you can see the excess glue if you look close up. Pretty rubbish for a shoe with a 140 quid RRP.
If your looking at them from a distance then it wouldnt be noticeable, like alot of issues on all trainers but up close is another matter. Really they are a £45 quid shoe if you apply the adage of 1/3 / 1/3 / 1/3
If i can get the forth coming black jordans then ill send them back, if i can't ill keep

The OG ones you have bought are really nice BTW.
Arrived this morning. They are so narrow. Can barely get my feet into them.
Gutted.
I must have wide feet. Never been able to wear Converse All Stars for the same reason.

Trainers are supposed to be comfortable. Pissing about taking insoles out defeats the purpose of the shoes IMO.

It's exactly that. Reading online I'm not the one who found this to be an issue.

It’s hardly a major inconvenience taking them out and it makes a difference in fit without any loss of comfort imo. Trainers are supposed to be comfortable. Pissing about taking insoles out defeats the purpose of the shoes IMO.
I don’t wear insoles in any of my UB and 4D’s. They are the first thing to be removed when I get them.
