I had a pair of AF1's on the shelf for a while and spending time on Youtube, there's a whole genre of customising. Dipped my toe with Dior 3M design and this is my first attempt. Really happy with them. Daughter loved them, so another pair arriving tomorrow and will do the same with hers. From far, it looks good, but up close, you can see the mistakes, but I'm really into it and happy with this as a 1st attempt
Am buying some leather paint and will have a go at some more custom work on some other pairs.

Did you post these up recently in a Facebook group? You seen people are paying up to £100 plus shoe for this style of custom
Regarding paint, always buy the bigger bottle if you can and skip angelus finishers and use the finishers from liquidleather.co.uk
I've just finished some candy Red j5s but need a sunny day to take some photos as the colours really pop.
There's several Facebook groups that are generally friendly and helpful (if you need it), members are anything from beginners to pros

Not on Facebook, but I’ve seen a few on Instagram. There was a user “wascustoms” charging £215 for a pair, I thought they looked good then started researching, and well. Ah OK, yeah some are charging 'insane' amounts for heat transfer customs. I'd be great to join the bandwagon but you need to do social media etc.Would be great to see your j5’s
Will do, i might do a how to guide on them in the DIY section which you may find helpful or not. This was candy red over pearl silver (meant to be metallic), but going to do some red over gold then looking to do red over black (black cherry) but spanked this months trainer money already.
If you get into it, it can get 'addictive' as you start playing with candy's, colour flips etc.
My one main word of advice for painting is prep the s
t out of them and wet sand where the crease lines will be. I learnt the hard way with paint cracking or flaking away (even though I thought I prepped enough)

I am just unsure why they are going to such lengths when very few get re sold In practise I am sure my method would fail miserably or may not even be viable in the first place!

If the Size staff actually keep and wear their shoes, I find that a bit more palatable than them just flipping or reselling them. It doesn't necessarily make it right, but if I were in the same position I would do it too.
