So by that logic. You cant have any Jordans, Converse,Air force 1's and so on unless you're an NBA player ?
No because the whole ethos of the Nike Sb sub brand was designed and marketed to appeal to the core skate community! Look at the OG pro team and focusing on only selling through skate shops.

But do you watch skate vids? Do you know a pro skateboarder that isn’t tony hawk, bam margera?
Do you look at architecture and wonder if it is skateable?
Do you notice wax ledges when walking around a town or city centre?

I stated quite clearly a couple of pages ago how much I want these Gulf Dunks, they’re amazing and the perfect crossover for petrolhead/sneakerheads.

But PH being PH, brilliant. I’ll do it myself taa.

No... but since 2004 I’ve been buying dunks from skate stores, and have spent thousands in these independents, shoes, clothing etc.

It does not matter about how much you spend, it is about understanding that skateboarding is a culture.

This kinda attitude is why Louis Vuitton now make a skate shoe.

rofl Don't take the mickey, Nike's an invasive species as far as the culture is concerned. Back in the early 2000s wasn't there opposition from skaters to Nike encroaching on their sport? Provided Nike - or Vans, or Adidas, or anyone really - profit from the sale they'll not be checking your credentials to ensure you are worthy of the purchase.

"It doesn't matter how many BMWs you buy, or how much money you've spent on them, or even how long you've been spending money on them, if you're not deep-frying head gaskets due to poorly maintained cooling systems you don't get it."

In the mid 90’s there was indeed opposition mainly due to designing an awful shoe called the Choad which was Nikes first attempt at the skateboard market and was deemed a much more mainstream approach.

When SB launched in 2002 they went the opposite direction, brought out the dunk SB variant built a solid and respected Team of core street skaters and also didn’t try to swamp the market. they also supported independent skateshops i.e the reason the Habbi colourway.
