A bit council (Vol 4)

If I were PM.
You'd need to have a licence to own or breed a dog.
If you were caught selling a dog, short of it biting one of you, then you're banned from owing again for life.
I’d like to tag and amendment to this ... people in general should be required to have a licence to breed. You'd need to have a licence to own or breed a dog.
If you were caught selling a dog, short of it biting one of you, then you're banned from owing again for life.

Indeed. I always feel sad for Staffs, the types they often attract. Despite their rep I've never met one which is anything other than lovely.
Agreed - some lovely ones out there but plenty horrors too unfortunately. Definitely a reflection on their council owners. Worst one I saw was an old neighbors, thing used to run riot and bark at absolutely everyone for no reason, even attacked one of the other residents for getting too close. Completely feral. They were proper council - wish I'd taken pictures of summer last year during the heatwave when they would drag their couch outside and sit there drinking Carling and blaring st music from 11 in the morning.

1. Dogs should never be disposable.
2. You let your child dictate the welfare of an animal?
Nasty council bh.

You said 'BBC' and 'real news'
I had a chuckle at that one as well . I wouldn't be surprised to find that the "news" in The Sun is actually the more accurate. But as for the BBC, I don’t think they are biased, but they get constantly accused of being biased both to left and right, all down to the audiences perception. They don’t promote false stories or make them up though, I’d be interested if you could point to an example.
Thanks for calling me ‘blinkered’ though!
Anyway, sorry other readers, this is the wrong thread, and I’ve never strayed into the NP&E forums, there be dragons there...

Sorry for late reply. Yes, I am ‘left leaning’ and read the guardian, watch the bbc etc. But I also read the telegraph and daily fail websites, plus economist/spectator etc. I can make my own mind up. Interestingly, the daily fail seems to be moving a bit left recently, albeit from a right hand position. Sometimes I agree with the guardian on a specific point, sometimes I agree with the telegraph on a (different) specific point.

Agree completely. IME you have to approach any media with slight cynicism. . You should "do a Derek" Frank, and write a book or two.
While I possibly, only possibly, have the intelligence to do that, there are too many hedonistic pursuits in my life that distract me, so I doubt I'd have the time, nor the patience to concentrate on trying to write a book, but thanks for the suggestion ski.Edited by Frank7 on Sunday 19th May 15:19

I broadly agree with you and think the attitude to news outlets you have is the only adult way to view them but I do think you are slightly naive when it comes to absolute honesty and the BBC.Lord McAlpine was labeled a pedophile on Newsnight using the flimsiest of evidence (quickly retracted), I think he sued them and either won or the BBC settled and the collusion between the Police and BBC in the Cliff Richard raid was verging on criminal. I think he sued them and won too.
I agree that they get constantly accused of being biased both to left and right but that is in a party political sense, I do think that the BBC is massively biased in an urban liberal sense and have had that confirmed by three good friends who have worked for them and are self-declared urban liberals.

Same with politics as a whole too.
Chris Rock said it best - "I got some st I'm liberal about, and some st I'm conservative about."

Don’t lose any sleep over it Flibble, I’m just a veracious sybarite, with a heightened sense of humour, and a vocabulary that sometimes exceeds my station in life.
If that's the case, do you use the Frank persona as an escape from all that? I’m going to have to keep a close eye on you
