I've never understood it... A mate of mine won't go out if the footy is on, can't miss a game. But each to their own.the football World Cup Final, if it was played in my back yard.

Even I would take issue with that statement, and I wouldn’t watch
the football World Cup Final, if it was played in my back yard.
Slightly tongue in cheek, but I do have an iron in the fire on this one as my Granddad, Uncle and cousin are all ex professional RL players and I was GB Masters captain against the Aussies a couple of years backthe football World Cup Final, if it was played in my back yard.
Saying that - having visited the likes of Wakefield, Castleford, Hull, Widnes, Salford etc. it could safely be said that rugby league is council

Always wondered this. Football supporters are just weird. All they do is talk about their teams and players when they get together, as if somehow it's 'theirs'. They can't get any use out of it, it doesn't make them money, it does absolutely nothing to support them back. I don't understand the fascination. fiju said:

Sounds like a hungry horse - one local to us did 2 pizzas with burgers in the middleIt does rather confirm my long-held view that Council has more fun than uptight middle class types.

I'm sure plenty of people say the same about 'car enthusiasts', 'train spotters', 'plane spotters' etc. how can anyone be interested in something that gets you from A to B ?
Each to their own really.
