Don’t know.
I used to have The Sunday Times, but binned it and now get pretty much the same for ‘free’ from a number of sources.
Why pay for a paper where the news bit is old by the time it hits the mat.
I don’t buy The Times for the news, I like reading the features including Jeremy Clarkson’s contribution.I used to have The Sunday Times, but binned it and now get pretty much the same for ‘free’ from a number of sources.

I also read the Investors Chronicle albeit the digital edition. I reckon that’s the future.

Used a twenty to get some drinks at a pub, only because had a load of cash I was trying to get rid of, I didnt tip as the guy was a right grumpy bd, the White Eagle in Rhoscolyn for reference, not exactly a cheery welcome.
Are you British? It is not normal practice to tip bar staff in Britain! Grumpy, cheerful, or otherwise.

Normally use a combination of cards and cash when out and about but last night was the first time ever we had an entire night cashless, from transport to drinks to meals. Apropos of nothing in particular it wasn’t a deliberate decision, just that we never got round to visiting a cash machine but it did feel strange being out with not a bean in my pockets.
I suspect next time we’ll have a mixture again so not sure whether that proves anything or not.

News etc being available online is only going to make their circulation go one way, paywalls help to a degree but you have to be loyal enough to pay. I’m not.
A lot of the generation after me have grown up with ‘free content’ too.

Avoid the Exeter Inn at Bampton, dreadful service and horribly overpriced. In my opinion.
http://exeterinn.pub/
Their website says "A pub you would be proud to call your local" (or words to that effect).

You don’t need to pay. Just a cash machine outside a bank, supermarket, building society, railway station, shopping centre etc.
Maybe for not much longer. The companies that provide ATM services to banks are complaining that they aren't able to make enough profit and will start restricting the service over the next few years.Eric Mc said:

Yes, I’ve been reading about that. A shame as people should have the choice between cash and cashless. Older people in particular can struggle with cashless.

Had to pay 95p to withdraw cash today.
First time I've been charged in about 15 years.
The penalties for using cash starting to ramp up.

God forbid that I should again be in a queue behind the woman in front of me at the quick service till last week. Looking for her loyalty card, she pulled out one of those American style credit card holders where about 20 cards drop down. Not finding it, she put it in her handbag, pulled out another bag from her shopping bag with another card holder, and finally found the correct loyalty card. Having sorted that, she put that bag back inside her shopping bag and looked like a startled rabbit when the assistant mentioned payment. She then rummaged around in another purse for her bank card, then stood rooted to the spot while putting them all away again. Meanwhile I handed the assistant the correct coins for my purchase and walked past while she was still faffing around. (BTW, I'm an old fart but use contactless cards frequently too)
