Ridiculously hot yesterday in Budapest (and the previous week tbh)

Apps/ Cycling computer said 35, but felt way, WAY, hotter... Uncomfortably so.

Bit of rain (actually woke me up) overnight and it's a bit better today, but still 24 on my ride in to work. before 0800.

Rain, and down to 19 tomorrow is forecast, then mid-twenties for the rest of the week, which should be nice.

Dorian looks like it will spare Florida the worst and rebound off the eastern seaboard.
Arrived back from 3 weeks in Florida Saturday morning, pleased to be missing that even though it looks less bad now. People were buying water by the trolley load.

Went to the Bournemouth air show with the kids yesterday afternoon, dare I say it was nice to be able to stand in the sun without dripping in sweat!

Definitely in the evenings. Been wearing shorts and having the windows open all summer, but last week around 5 is having to go round shutting the windows and putting some joggers on.

There's some northerly aspect to the wind, and little cloud cover. Oxfordshire dipped to only 4 degrees last night. Aberdeenshire had a frost!

Lots of agreement on where Dorian will end up. Of course, as always, it will no longer be a hurricane, and no where near hurricane strength.

Blimey.

Second most powerful storm ever recorded according to the media (as of a few days ago). What makes these really scary for me is the storm surge, there is no escaping that. The Bahamas has taken a real beating and it must be difficult to live anywhere like that knowing that something like this could strike.

Saying that, the media also said that this is the fifth Cat5 storm in five years, very unusual apparently.

Download the Windy app. I'm looking at the storm now just north of the island. All real time. Predicting it moving up to North Carolina coast by Friday.

Suggestions as it passes north of us it will drag up warm air over uk next week.

It’s a great app. And fascinating to watch as you say.

Good signs of a return to something summery by next weekend. Only fly in the ointment will be high pressure with a northerly wind...
