A new law requiring children to pay for the upkeep of their elderly parents.
Or even better, a law where people pay for themselves rather than relying on others.

Can I do two........

1. make it illegal to run for president if you are a lawyer.

Reasoning; In the States we currently have a mess because Trump isn't a lawyer and his every move good or bad is questioned. The lawyers see their traditional hold on the position in jeopardy should he do OK.

2. legislate either the length of hotdogs or the buns, it shouldn't be that difficult.

The image from UK flags, including union Jack, can only be put on products that have 100% UK manufacturing content.

So Mini. Sorry, half your parts are made outside of the UK. So you can't have those wky union Jack rear lights.

So, pretty green. SORRY Mr Galager. Your tee shirts are made in India, so no RAF roundells
Even if you see them in the UK. You still can't have them, because the material wasn't woven in the UK.

I really like those. Jag should do them. Also Indian, but not German.

All new cars are required to have spider proof wing mirrors.
By law, cars' engines go in to limp mode if driven with the wing mirrors folded.

Thank you.
Assembled from parts made where ? Global supply chains. What proportion of the casting, machining, electronics circuits, assembly comes out of a UK supplier based in the UK with their suppliers based in the UK making parts in the UK?

And isn't the yman assembled in Austria?

I haven't read the entire thread so this may have already been posted.

I would ban horse riding on roads. Its just too dangerous for riders and other road users.
According to the British Horse Association, 39 horse riders were killed in British roads between 2010 and 2017.

In 2019 alone, 394 motorcyclists were killed.

Is it really worth worrying about horse riders ahead of motorbikes?

Oh dear, I’d better warn my wife, she always says, “Can I get?” or “I’d like”, when ordering in a restaurant, although she doesn’t go in many cafes, unless you count Union Square Café in New York City.
I’d go along with re-introducing Transportation to the Colonies though, for people who disagree with speech mannerisms used by millions, e.g., I don’t like to hear Northerners say, “I were sat at t’table”, when they mean, “I was seated at the table”, but I don’t get all bent out of shape over it, it’s just local vernacular.

My aunt went to New Zealand on holiday, and bought a hat and scarf set there as a present for my daughter. Embroidered on the scarf was a gambolling New Zealand lamb above the words "Greetings from New Zealand". On the label was written "100% Polyester" and "Made in Vietnam"! hehe

That seems to me to beg the question "by whom were you seated ?" as you are using a derivative of the verb "to seat". I suspect what you really mean is "I was sitting at the table".

"I were" represents the subjunctive mood. And of you'd ever been up north you'd know why we're in such a mood.

People who pick food off a supermarket shelf and then, deciding they don't want it, leave it elsewhere in the shop so it has to be wasted.

Punished by being pelted with wasted food.

I don’t think that it’s wasted, unless of course it’s from a freezer or chiller, and left on a shelf.
My wife’s cousin worked for Tesco, and said that every day, someone would be given a duty called “put backs”, naturally this entailed going around the store picking up e.g. tins of peas from the bread and cakes section, and putting them back in the canned foods section.
Still mildly annoying to see it, I agree.
