Appears to be the accepted norm now.

You can’t sa Ta, Thanks or thanks very much.

Everything is Thankyou so much.

Even when you get a stirrer for your coffee.

It annoys me.

Thankyou so much for reading my rant.

Language evolves constantly and popular phrases and expressions come and go. A few stay.
The ubiquity of media we all use is not only wiping out regional accents but also regional expressions.
Nobody says “cool” or “gnarly” any more , or “I think that’s interesting -NOT” - we live in a changing world.

Either I’ve no idea I’m saying it myself or I’ve genuinely never heard it! Is it a southern thing? It’s still very much ‘ta’ or ‘cheers’ wherever I go (up north).

Starting any sentence with 'So' annoys me as well. Bloody yanks, I blame Brexit.

I always shed one solitary tear of gratitude, hook a finger in each of the person's nostrils, yank them towards me and force them to look at it. It's an intensely powerful exchange of emotion.

I've just returned from collecting something I ordered yesterday. The person who dealt with my order gave me advice that I followed so I asked the different person I collected from to thank him. Did I overstep the mark?
