There isn't a woman called George in the Good Life. Do you mean the Good Wife?
The women in the Good Life were Barbara and Margo.
George was Lady Truscott, who persuaded Barbara to give a talk on self sufficiency in the episode Our Speaker Today (Series 4 Episode 3).The women in the Good Life were Barbara and Margo.
Played by Angela Thorne.

Proof thereof. She was called George 'cos it was short for Georgina.Played by Angela Thorne.

Another I missed out - anyone remember Fred from Cats' Eyes?
Played by Leslie Ash so you got two for the price of one!
Also, wasn't there a British series a few years back that had a female character called Max?
(Don't remember now whether it was a drama or comedy.)
There was certainly "2 Broke Girls" which had a female character called Max. Played by Leslie Ash so you got two for the price of one!

But it certainly wasn't British, and "comedy" is a strong word to use for it.
But the actress in question was Kat Dennings so definitely fanciable.
