Two more positive selling experiences in the last month.
Old football nets my son doesn't bother with anymore. Sold within half an hour and the guy collected an hour later. No fuss, no haggling and a good chat about his twin boys and how these nets would help his life immensely!
An old fridge just sat spare in the garage. Advertised then a lovely woman drove 30 miles for it an hour later and paid again no haggling.
Of course there were a few suspect messages that I deleted and blocked immediately. Separate the wheat from the chaff straight away and it's not too bad.

Then nothing, not a sausage. Get loads like this.
The other common question is straight into a price negotiation, which means they want it dirt cheap or not interested. In my experience, serious buyers who know what the object is worth, usually want to see it. They also know that standing next to it and offering to take it away puts them in a stronger negotiating position (providing it's sensible and reasonable of course)
Recommendations for buying?
Festool track saw. So few hundred quid but a good bargain.
In a fairly rough area, but somewhere not surprising a trade would live. It's also 240V, so unlikely to be nicked off a building site.
Assume bank transfer after checking over is the best route for payment rather than carrying cash?

I've got 16 concrete blocks to get rid of that were under my old shed. Thinking of popping them on FB Marketplace free to collect but not sure I can be bothered with the numpties that'll contact me.
Never put things up for free as if they don't see it as being worth anything they won't think twice about not bothering to turn up, etc. Put it up for £5 for the lot and just don't take any money when someone comes to collect.MesoForm said:

Ok well it’s available so it’s yours. Then “how many do you have?”, one as per the ad. “Oh sorry I need two”. No problem they still have some for sale on the website so buy mine at 25% discount and one off their website. Silence.

Tried listing some wrx 4 pot brake calipers as free collection only due to leaving them outside for two years after swapping to STI brakes, lots of interest none of it serious, have people asking if it will fit x/y/z car and keep on getting asked to post, think I'm just gonna take them down the dump.

Stolen goods from somewhere perhaps? Festool track saw. So few hundred quid but a good bargain.

I have only listed one thing on Facebook for free collection and that was a virtually new TV stand. I think the advert was up for 30 minutes before I deleted it and took it to the local tip instead.Saw this and thought of this thread

Out of interest, what is your aversion to posting? Do the buyers expect you to pay for it too? Saw this and thought of this thread

I've bought a few "collection only" car and motorbike parts by organising the courier to collect from the seller, so all they have to do is pop it in a box. I'm just trying to find out what the best approach would be when asking if they actually would post despite saying they won't.
