I've just had a snotty rant message from someone who I must have forgotten to reply to over something I recently advertised. I was inundated with messages and it was difficult to keep track of who I had replied to and who was coming next to view etc. Apparently I didn't reply to him. Surly if the seller doesn't reply to you then you just move on with your life?

It's easy to get round- set your price from and to. Hit search.

Anyone who gets scammed by these and the T5/T6 VW ads.... oh look a Transporter for 10k less than others, this means we can get a newer one - buyer must be daft/not realise. Oh he says 'needs a quick sale due to illness/moving abroad etc ' no problem buy it quick before someone else does and he realises he's vastly under priced it and we'll 'get a bargain' that we can show off about to friends.

Pair of Dainese boots for sale posted up 3 days ago so reasonably expect them still to be for sale. Perfect for what I need... So as I'm going to be riding my motorbike through the general area today I asked Good morning etc. I can pick up today etc.

Seller reads my message and doesn't reply.

Okay.

If someone messages me I reply unless they use the auto gen message.

Mark it pending sold?

If someone is really interested they'd arrange to come within a day or so.

OK thanks for your interest, someone is potentially picking it up in a day. If they don't I'll let you know.

I bought a pair of Alpinestars brand new boots yesterday (179£) for 70.

The communication and transaction couldn't have been more seamless.

Spot on.

Another point with big business sites such as eBay. etsy, Uber, Just Eats, Deliverpoo etc is the constant need to churn turnover to make headline figures. Most of these companies will use warchests to encourage turnover rather than profit. eBay normally have a get 20% off up to a maximum of £75 with selected sellers. Even their £1 listings will still make a small profit for them. The food delivery companies have their constant 40% off offers, £10 off a £30 order etc. And people constantly order from them thinking ooh if I order £30 of food I only pay £20.
I thought they just passed that "saving" down to the seller? Forcing the seller to increase their price. Which is why I refuse to use justeat anymore, I just call the takeaway directly and pay their menu rate, and often they will throw in some extras or deliver for free.
I used to do that with our local takeaway. Until recently when suddenly there own prices were put exactly in line with justeat, I spoke to the owner about it and apparently it was a new justeat policy that they weren’t allowed to sell at cheaper than justeat prices as it would result in them being removed from the justeat platform and it was a large portion of their business.

So it appears the just eat shisters have found a way to stop us doing that.
My favourite chinese uses just eat ( which I won’t use) the owner told me they like them as they they don’t waste time taking an order and taking the payment as the order just comes out as a printout .
If all my local takeaways are anything to go by they simply reduced the portion sizes and increased padding out/less meat with increased justeat etc prices.

Same if you go into a takeaway now- they realise people will just keep ordering en masse.
I've had one takeaway in 6 months. It's pointless in quality.

Yep. You might be surprised to hear this one isn't actually advertising a mattress either (wardrobes are another common item):

Seriously?

There's lots of prom dresses for sale on FB.
No I was searching motorbikes and bicycles.

Then one popped up I clicked thinking oo nice legs. Then bang! The page is now full.

So innocent sellers will receive sexual propositions?

Nice. That ontop of the fake car ads - gumtree/fb will fizzle out eventually.

I opened up market place this morning and straight away at the top is the same bike listing listed by two different hacked accounts (both accounts with numerous vehicles).

The whole thing is now riddled. I also see the scammers are now listing fake vehicle listings on ebay as well.

This will destroy trust in the platforms when it starts hitting journalists attention.

Whenever I'm selling anything cycling or motorbike related I don't give out my house number. Only postcode and I'll say I'll pop out when your here. That avoids anyone who doesn't show knowing my full details.

What I really love the most about Facebook is having to hunt for the bloody size of something by looking at the pictures.
