As I said, do what you wish. Just don't advise other people to do the same.

You can leave your car unlocked, and your front door wide open, for all I care. Just don't tell other people that it's a great idea and they should do the same too.

What is someone going to do with access to my account on here or other similar websites?

Stories like this:

news.sky.com/story/selling-sex-for-5-is-the-only-way-i-can-survive-after-universal-credit-chaos-11844413

I have no experience of prositution (my ego wouldn't cope 8-) ), but take the view that a willing buyer and a willing seller are making a deal which works for both.

The story in the link did irritate me somewhat though:

Clearly a five week wait for anyone legitimately claiming benefits is unacceptable; any such person is unlikely to have sufficient reserves to survive for that length of time.

One might argue that if Susie is fit enough, in both senses, to sell sex, she is also fit enough to find and undertake more conventional work, perhaps even finding it less distressing.

"Here, a woman called Susie tells Sky News why her struggle with the Universal Credit system has left her selling sex for just £5. Within the next week if my situation doesn't change I am going to have to go back on the streets. All I'm thinking about at the moment is that prostitution is the only way for me to get out of this really harmful situation I'm in. I worked for years in Birmingham on the streets from 2012. It was very hard and harsh. I came to the UK because there is no money in Portugal, where I'm originally from. My son is back home with my mum and nearly all the money I made went back to support them. It's a big responsibility. People can't manage without the money we send. I ended up supporting other family members too. When people have got nothing in the fridge to eat, you can't turn them down. In the last six months my life has gone down the drain. I had got out of prostitution. I got help to apply for benefits and was just about managing. Then I was moved over to Universal Credit. I got less money but I was still managing. Then I got a letter in the post saying that I was no longer entitled to Universal Credit because I was an EU citizen and I had to apply for settled status."
  • ***
Why does Susie feel that the British taxpayer should support her, and her family living in Portugal?
  • ***
"It's been one crisis after another since. I tried to apply for settled status myself and it was so complicated I just got refused. Meanwhile I have no money to live on. I went to Universal Credit but they said they couldn't do anything until my application for status was agreed. I have really been stuck. I ran out of money completely. My electricity and gas got cut off. My landlord started threatening to evict me because I can't pay my rent. It's been three and a half months now. I wake up every morning wondering how I'm going to get through the day. It's a disaster."
  • ****
The application for settled status was changed from a complex form to a very simple five minute on line application more than one year ago. Shortly afterwards the modest (£65) fee was abolished, so now it's even free.
  • ***
"Everywhere I go I'm begging for food or a little money just to stay alive. No one can live like this. So of course I started selling sex again. Where I live now, sometimes you only get a fiver. Girls are so desperate they're taking it out on each other. This is what we have been reduced to. Fighting our friends for a fiver. I am ashamed but what else can we do? So I think my message is - don't talk to me about the harms of prostitution when, under the circumstance, prostitution is the only way for me to get any dignity and to survive."
  • ***
My message is that if she has no saleable skill other than sex but doesn't want to do that, she should head back to Portugal instead of abusing the system in a foreign country.

Completely agree, a large part of the reason immigrants head to this country, whether people want to admit it or not, is due to the fact that they are given benefits almost immediately.

I have it disagree with that analogy.

It would be more like putting a retinal scanner on the shed when you keep manure, realistically a cheap combination padlock will do and it doesn't matter if it's got the same combination as the other 20 sheds where you keep various gardening supplies.

I've divided my password policy into different levels of security. Low security sites like PH have a basic password that may be reused. My email and bank are high security, so nessisitate more care... But most of these now have 2FA.

I'm less concerned of my PH password being difficulty to crack.

It wasn't actually an analogy. I was just saying that DoubleD is free to be as lax with security as they wish, but that encouraging others to do likewise isn't helpful.

If you're using a Password Vault then it's just as easy to use a unique password as to use the same one, so why not use a unique one and contain the annoyance of being compromised to just one site rather than several.

The biggest issue with re-using passwords is that if your password is compromised on one site then you need to remember which other sites you've used it on, and go change those too.

Anyway, no matter. Each to their own and all that.

Its not being lax with security on sites like this though. I will carry on encouraging others if I want to, they are then free to decide how much security forums like this need. I personally dont care if a cyber criminal logs in as me as there isnt much they can do with what little I have on here.

This, so much this.

I really don't understand why people still watch this tripe, with Netflix and Amazon being less than a tenner a month.

I catch bit when visiting my mum, and can clearly see why she's a miserable cow... hehe

I know. people still watching terrestrial TV, it must be awful for you frown

You see, I pay the TV licence, so I can't afford another £120 a year , so it's visual tripe for me,

The upside is one less dimwit for the UK tax avoiders at AmaFlix to fleece

Never mind the terrestrial vs netflix thing, I dont get why people would want to watch eastenders.
