I was not in the best of moods when I finally started shopping, and indeed went straight to Patisserie Valerie for a pot of tea and a cake to calm myself down a bit.
Did you have a cupcake?

The stone that flew up and cracked my windscreen on Thursday. Was able to get it sorted same day, but now I've just found out I don't get any DAB reception. Given the aerial wire most likely runs through the a-pillar, it doesn't seem like a co-incidence.

Milk which goes off 4 days before the 'use by' date on the bottle ( and yes, it was kept refrigerated )

I get that with Co-Op organic milk. Never lasts to the date. Might be our local store not keeping it cold and the frequency with which the fridge doors are broken.

It was amusing when we had an RX-8, would rock up to the shops and park in the parent & child space... the least "mumsy" car there next to the sea of mpv's, SUV's and sensible cars.

Did get a few looks sometimes, until got the pram base out from the boot, stuck the wheels on and put the baby in seat on. smile
I get the same with an MX5...
As did I with a Mk1 MR2 smile
928GTS - had to sell when No. 2 was due. 928 doors need lots of space to open.
Hate to break it to you, but the beauty of parent and child parking is there is lots of space to open the doors.

Not everywhere I needed to park was a supermarket with such reserved spots.

We've just cancelled our milk deliveries. Too often, even in winter, you'd open a bottle to find it had gone off. Sad, as we'd like to support the local service.

I wonder, do you put the peel-off seal inside the cap after you've opened it or just throw it in the bin? I think it helps to keep the milk fresh.

Use long life milk, then you wouldn't have this problem.

On the flip side, we get our milk delivered and we've only lost one bottle in the last 4 years. And that was a pint that froze solid and cracked the glass bottle in a hard winter a couple of years ago. Mostly we find that the pints that we have delivered all have remarkably long use by dates, and they usually last a day or two beyond that date anyway. And that's over two different Milk&More dairies more than a hundred miles apart.

They do deliver late at night/early in the morning though. If I stay up late on a Sunday night/Monday morning I can take the milk in off the step before I go to bed as it usually turns up around midnight...

redcard

You would have the problem of everything tasting horrible though.
When I go to our head office in Brussels they have English Breakfast Tea bags, with UHT milk at best, but usually only creamer.
My taxi from the station always gets told to stop at a shop on the way.

Nah it's grim. The worst is French tea as they never use hot enough water, or leave the bag in long enough, or worse still they proffer an elegant box with a range of "teas", none of which includes anything resembling a good cup of tea... wink

Then the problem becomes actually drinking the stuff, UHT horrid stuff.

Tea should be taken black.

Milk was only ever introduced to this fine beverage to stop the thin china of the day from cracking. These days, its addition is just an horrendous offence.
