Are you sure ? jester

I'd have said that an island is just one component of a roundabout

On Monday. On Tuesday. I wonder if there are people that sat At Monday? At Tuesday?

And why On for a weekday, but At for the weekend?

Definition 3.
on, preposition (TIME)
"used to show when something happens"

If you're going to be a grammar NAZI then at least be accurate.

Saying "on" the weekend is perfectly acceptable and makes more sense than most of the English language.
Aw, I'm not a full-time grammar Nazi. I just help them out when they're busy, like at the weekend for instance.

I just love the smart uniform... cloud9

Agreed.

'On' the weekend is weird. Always 'At' the weekend.

North East Wales/North West England.

My missus also says 'I'm going TO the shower' rather than 'I'm going to HAVE A shower' what are your thoughts on this? I say she is wrong and mock her every time. English is her second language in fairness, so I really hope I'm correct.
Or "take a shower"?

...stand UNDER the shower, surely? Or sit, if you've got one of those fold-up plastic shower seats?

I say "I'm going to have a shower".
But surely the correct phrase is
I'm going to shower myself in the shower.

Or: "I'm going to shower"

Shower, verb, wash oneself in a shower.
"she showered and went down to breakfast"

"To shower myself in the shower" risks being a tautology?

Street name signs which are only on one side of the road, invariably the side so that when you are approaching them and you have to slow down and/or stop to see if it is the correct road that you want to take.

It's complicated in our house so I would agree in most circumastances..
We have a shower in the bathroom, but no bath.
We have a shower over the bath in the en suite.
So I can go to the bathroom to have a shower, or have a shower in the room with a bath.
I can also take a shower in the shower, or I can jump in the bath and have a shower.
