the blue rope has brought back all of the ill feeling I have, not sure why, it's just so blue.
Is it that horrible electric blue which many car manufacturers chose as "launch colour"??

Not my name, but my (old) address. I lived in a 'Brynhyfryd Road'. Or my NOK did. The nurse's inability to write down a word with no (English) vowels meant I had to say "give it here and I'll write it down. It was the admission form when I'd been blue-lighted to hospital with a blood clot in my arm. But the confusion and giggling over an incomprehensible address meant that when I later wrote to her at the hospital, that nurse remembered me. And we've been married for nearly 29 years now...
Welsh addresses are great hehe
Mine has an English and a Welsh version, including the house name - the English version most people cope with well enough on the phone, but with the Welsh version has vowels and diphthongs that are completely different to English, on every line.

It's only "deployed" if I'm very pissed off or frustrated with the caller!

Oh and my first/last name gets switched around a lot, as my surname is a common first name, and my first name is not english.
That doesn't annoy me really, I'm more embarrassed about correcting people tbh

It's some kind of off the shelf ladder with yellow plastic rungs but the rope is very much themed like the cheap builders stuff.

I don't wish to be alarmist, but if this is recurring regularly, please make an appointment with your GP.

Persistant reflux is symptomatic of a hiatus hernia which if left untreated can lead to Barratt's Oesophagus, a precancerous condition in which cells lining the lower oesophagus are affected by stomach acid and mutate into becoming similar to the acid-resistant cells lining the stomach.
Obviously cell mutation is not a desirable thing.

Early diagnosis is important and your condition can most likely be treated with proper prescription medication such as proton pump inhibitors, not antacid remedies such as Gaviscon or Setlers, or Rennies that are heavily advertised on TV. ( The lovely pink firemen don't mention seeking medical advice if you suffer persistant reflux frown )

I wish somebody had told me this when I was in the early stage.
Please don't delay, TTT, and good luck.

This one is quite specific, but a certain youtuber who was brought in to add kudos to our first post meet up. Unfortunately due to said youtuber's influence and people wanting their five mins of fame by driving like pillocks on their videos meant that what was supposed to be a meeting for one set of cars was ruined by fks in assorted Euro-trash turning up and driving like utter sts.

On the way to the second location I witnessed driving so appalling I just turned around, it was aggressive, massively dangerous and just gave ammunition for all those dicks who would like cars banned. I wasn't going to be associated with that sort of behaviour of these s. If I wanted to see such cars with pop-bang remaps and driving like that I'd go down to McDonald's after benefit pay day.

Annoyed me beyond reason because after 12 wks of being cooped up I wanted to go out and talk to people in the same subset of cars for a few hours and get interesting responses back. Instead it was ruined by people who by a BMW and think they've made it. tts.

Reason it's on here and not the knob thread is because I love my Japanese cars, and youtube is awash with just as many videos of JDM cars driving like tts as any other geographical group of cars.

Yay! God loves a stern English Heritage lady steward!

We booked Stonehenge on Sunday morning. Hoping it would be nicer with only 20% of the "normal" visitor numbers, and timed entry slots. We walked the near two miles to the stones, and decided (along with many other visitors) to lie down on the grass near the outer rope, and take in the relative peace and quiet of this World Heritage Site.

Then some bozo decides to activate a swarm of angry bees to irritate the hell out of everyone else. Oh. wait. It's not bees, it's some dipst trying to fly a tiny drone against a 20+ mph westerly wind.

I think we got close to the English Heritage staff member getting a round of applause for the no-nonsense way she firmly told him to get the damned thing out of the sky.

On what planet could it be considered to be even remotely considerate to other paying customers to fly a poxy little drone with a poxy little camera to the loud and intrusive annoyance of everyone else present. Personally I was hoping a strong gust of wind would smash the irritating trinket onto the A303 for a truck to roll over it. I'm also annoyed that there's never a shotgun around when you need one. I'd have happily "taken the shot". And then recovered the drone... wink

I am sorry that people didn't behave themselves as they should have done.

Do you know that all your swear words are blotted out? So it is a waste of everyone's time you carefully typing them?

You do realise that the time you spent deleting his quoted post and typing in 'stuff about a car meet that he had been to' is longer than just quoting his post intact ?

But it's considerate to others as it reduces excessive quoting.

Ironic that you should berate it really, given that the post was essentially about consideration for others. smile

As ironic that you regarded it as serious. Possibly more so?

Yes, I do realise that, but it would have meant re-quoting all those "censored" words. Wouldn't it?

It's possible that we have taken this as far as we sensibly can.
