When someone states something contains genetically modified sugar, and refuses to believe that sugar ( C12H22O11 ) does not have genes
Could it be sugar from genetically modified Sugar Beet or Sugarcane? MartG said:

The bravado attitude is great but there’s a time and a place, on the basis that 2 weeks ago 14,000 a day were being infected (now down to 1,400) now is still not the time to pretend to be Billy Big bks and bore everyone stupid with how you don’t give a toss about anyone else.
This. Now that the level of infections are down to a manageable level the British public are being given the opportunity to demonstrate that we can keep it that way of our own volition... I.E. without rules enforcing lockdowns.
Viruses aren't stopped by false bravado, they are stopped by a tiny bit of forethought and personal responsibility.
If I'm going to be in close proximity to another, especially a stranger, I'm damn well going to wear a mask even though I know it's there to prevent me from accidentally infecting them I'm not so daft to assume because I'm in a low risk group that I can't be infected (in fact being in a low risk group means if I am infected the symptoms are likely to be less noticeable).

Pedestrians who think the way to cross a road is to randomly step out off the pavement and expect all the traffic to stop for them!
Indeed, but legally speaking (yes, I know all about headstone slogans saying 'at least I was right') doesn't the pedestrian always have the right of way and that they're right to expect traffic to stop? Antony Moxey said:

I'm not sure how clear cut it is. Certainly we don't have Jaywalking laws in the UK but likewise I don't think we have specific laws saying the pedestrian has right of way either. However, if a car driver mows down a pedestrian then they are very likely to face charges of manslaughter or causing death by dangerous driving or if the pedestrian survives then some other charge, so effectively they have to give way to pedestrians. Or it certainly behoves them to. Antony Moxey said:
Threads continuing to descend into petty Covid arguments.
Covid is the biggest and most dangerous national emergency that we have experienced in all our lifetimes. Discussions on PH will rise and descend to all levels of argument, and will continue, I feel, for some time to come.nonsequitur said:
