Click & Collect
Every single package I've had returned due to being refused delivery was to a Click & Collect address
It's quite obvious that the folks running these places are incapable of reading an address label, or their system simply isn't providing them with the correct information

Looking at ordering a load of decking from Travis Perkins. Apparently they can deliver the 3.6m boards I intend to make the frame with, but the 3.6m decking boards are collection only. HTF am I supposed to fit 30 of them in the back of my car, and why can’t they deliver them if they can deliver other similarly sized boards?

IME, if you go and place your order at the counter (rather than online), they'll deliver the lot. It's probably just a centralised stock control issue which the local guys can see past.
You'll probably moan that that'll mean having to remove the pyjamas you've been sitting in for the last four months, but...

Today I attended the local school clothing supply monopoly - I’d made an appointment as per the instructions for my 15min slot, duely attended 5mins early and quested around the back of the building, mask worn and awaited being called in.
Behind me appears an unmasked moron woman with 7 kids, she had 1 more in the car as it turns out, pushes to the front as she dyslexic and complains how busy it was. There was only me in the queue and one person in the store being served. I politely remind her that there is a queue and it’s by order of appointment.
She starts mouthing off about how she doesn’t have an appointment and will he served as she is a “key worker” and dyslexic so can’t use a computer.
I asked what she did - a hairdresser (cash only of course) - and I said I was surprised she was “key” as there is no such thing anymore and actually hairdressers were not key when it was “a thing”. I asked if she had a Facebook page as I may know some people to put her way - she did and got her phone out and showed me - I then remarked that I was surprised she had an iPhone and Facebook as she “can’t use the internet for her dyslexia” - she wasn’t happy.
I was then called in to make my purchases which I did and the person with the appt after me was then called in to another counter inside and this woman went apest, screaming she was in line and had dyslexia so couldn’t use a computer to get an appt!
The staff sent some poor girl out to handle her and make an appt for her and she reeled off her email address for correspondence and refused 3 appt slots as they weren’t immediate and she’d have to come back!
She left without an appt or school wear for her marauding kids of multi-fatherhood.
As I left (via the correct exit) she was loading them all into a people carrier (ropey old silver zafira, of course) screaming down the phone (on speakerphone) at some poor soul about the horrendous service and how she’s never going back there!
Well if it’s logo’d school wear she needs she can’t actually get it anywhere else as they service pretty much every local public and state school!

Back when I was a step-parent I had the misfortune to have to attend one of these establishments with my step-son and I committed the cardinal sin of remarking how expensive a bog standard jumper with a school logo was, and got the sarky response from the sales assistant that this was the decision I had made in sending child to a fee-paying school. Talk about really rubbing it in. Especially as it wasn't my decision.
