I would rather be boring than annoying.
I would rather be annoying than boring.
Me too. Boring people are also annoying, so double the pain.

F**k amazon.
They are one of the reasons so many high street shops have closed.

Nah, council greed is why so many high street shops have closed.

I mean still "fk Amazon" but the way they have made it all but impossible to park without paying a fortune as well as priced all but the larger chains out by ludicrously high business rates is the primary reason why.

As someone mentioned earlier, the fact that some Sky boxes are now asking for a PIN despite all Parental Controls and PIN features being set to 'off' in the settings.

In the grand scheme of things it's not a huge deal, especially as I've set the pin to 0000, but it's still annoying.

Off should mean off.

It's not even as if it was adult content either; just post-watershed.

I quite like Amazon, I like the service and speed of delivery.

Oh I'm in agreement on both. Doesn't stop them being an utter fk of a company though.

Untested as in not PAT tested surely?
Sometimes yes, but take an advert like this for example:

TV is described as untested, but we don't know if that means it doesn't come on at all or if the seller just doesn't have an input to test it with.
No model number provided. It's probably on the back of the TV.
No screen size given.

Just remembered another one. Sellers listing collection only items as located in London. It's a big old place...

Still, it's usually cheaper than Amazon.

Good Post, Totally agree about Councils and High Streets. Personally also I hate going into towns which now have big one way systems around them, Sutton, Croydon, even Guilford annoyed me with traffic lights seemly stuck on red and traffic gridlocked. Epsom too is dreadful with7 roads all interlocking at ends of the high streets. That's a place which really does need traffic diverted away on some form of bypass

This, 100% this. The largest carpark in my hometown is on land GIFTED to the town in a late blokes will. Newark & Sherwood DC took it upon themselves to make it pay and display, in spite of half the town (about 5000) signing a petition against it.

Added to which they've employed a parking nazi to enforce it, along with numerous loading bays. aholes.

As a seller its tough, you could spend hours testing an item only for it to sell for £1...or not bother and it still sells for exactly the same amount.

Given the way Ebay will fk you over as a seller I'd be loath to promise any kind of working. Sell for example this TV as "working" and 2 months later the buyer could claim it's not as described because the volume knob is a little bit crackly and a wheel has a crack in it and get a full refund including postage both ways ... on a 30 year old TV.

I'll not purposely sell something that I know isn't working as "untested" (I do know some sellers will) but equally I'm not wasting my time or putting anything other than something along the lines of "untested, buyers are welcome to come test before purchase".

I do agree with the utter lack of details though.

Yes, you have to be so careful as an eBay seller. Even if you list an item as "Returns Not Accepted" then eBay can enforce a return & refund on you if the item is not as described so you have to be careful how you describe it.

But, yes, I also totally agree about not providing dimensions and details though.

I see listings from some private sellers where the item has one blurry photo and whose description is "will be setn 2nd class" [sic]
How they expect to sell it is anyone's guess.

Mind you, I'm guilty of going too much the other way and of writing a veritable essay for each listing, and I think people just skip it as "TL;DR"

fking neighbours annoy me today. Pyschobh from hell one side, regular Police and Ambulance visits for drug or alcohol induced issues. On/off boyfriend/stalker either stays the night or prowls round outside (also exposed himself the other night apparently). Hence we have cameras and lights up at the front and rear of the house. Now neighbour the other side has come round complaining about the light at the rear shining into her garden. I did try explaining that we needed it due to the stalkers and dealers loitering round by the rear gate, but she wants it taking down.
I know, should have worked harder at school etc, but we live in a nice area, with houses worth £400k upwards. We would like to move, but we would need to declare pyschobh, which we have been told would reduce the house value by approximately £50k, that's if we could find someone willing to take the risk. Only other option would be to rent it out and rent somewhere else ourselves, but I can't imagine anyone staying long, once they realise what the neighbours are like. Anyway, neighbours, fk em !

And your neighbour is probably thinking that not only has she got to deal with drug addicts, but now another neighbour is lighting up her garden at night!

I did spend ages adjusting the light so the bare minimum of light caught her garden. My wife often comes home from her volunteer work at 2am, so we need some kind of light outside. A polite request to try and adjust the light some more would have been nice though.

Yes, I had a similar experience many years ago at a previous house.

By accident, the floodlight over the garage got left on one night and shone across into the neighbour's bedroom across the road. First time it had ever happened even though we had lived there a year or so by then.

The next day the neighbour came over to complain, and I of course apologised profusely and explained it was an accident, and that I quite understood, and we would ensure it did not happen again, etc. but rather than accepting that, he then proceeded to tell me that he was a Local Councillor and started to threaten me with setting his colleagues on me etc. and I responding by asking if he had actually been listening to anything I had been saying, and that if he insisted on going down this route then I would be lodging a complaint with the council about his threats.
