As with short sleeve shirts, I find they have the opposite effect - as you are exposing more skin you heat up more quickly. Plus, no one wants to see bulging bks and hairy legs in the morning meeting.
You haven't met my wife ? She would love that
Your wife has hairy legs and bulging bks?

Checks username, OK as you were.

Sports casual!

I think the OP should really aim for "Imperial Leisure" though
Personally I go for strolling pastel.

Primark Chino shorts - currently in sale for £4 - will easily last a month or 2. Comfy, smart. stretchy and wash/iron well. Teamed with a light work shirt, sleeves rolled up (tucked or un-tucked depending on gut); either boat or driving moccasins. Chicks dig it...

You've made a terrible job of shaving your legs...

I live in shorts for 8 months of the year outside of work, but never in work.

As someone mentioned earlier, part of the problem is choosing the right shoes to go with them.

I would take a photo, but I don't want any sort of sexual attention from my fine legs.

Anyway.

M&S do good chino shorts, which I'm currently wearing, with a pair of Fila Tourissimo white trainers. I also have a pair of fake Toms from Primark for £3.50 so I can alternate.

M+S do a great range of very lightweight / walking type shorts ... baggy and just above the knee.

Wear them a lot here in Singapore - light cool and comfortable. And quick drying

smart enough for office wear in hot weather

True, although to be fair given the patchy growth I probably should shave them.

Shoes are a ballache with shorts. Todds are often seen round here; but they are a bit cliched. If I was in a shirt I'd be in some sort of soft loafer, but T shirts are the order of the day, hence the trainers.

These would work for most occasions (and a relative steel in PH director terms):

These might make you out as some form of c**t (whom orders sparklers in his jerobaum of prosecco):

Sorry, but...

This is one of the reasons why the environment is knackered.
If we want to keep ICE cars, then at least try and offset it by buying sustainable clothes that will last much longer.

Liking them, natty.

Linen check shorts tomorrow I think, trains largely down (because heat) so riding in. Will cut weight on the bike!

of course they'll last much longer. but its now at a sale price where its so cheap you might as well get them even if it's to wear them for a short period.

That’s the same pattern as the carpet in the hotel bar...

To go with the shorts I'd recommend a pair of "sport" underwear, something like Underarmour. Makes a big difference to comfort in the heat, they are expensive (and cheaper versions are available) but worth every penny in the heat.

It was my usual fleece and shorts down at the farm today.

Suit next week though as I’m out in the city looking for investors
