Tesco chino shorts are about £15 for two pairs.
may consider this.

however i'd want something light/thin and (more importantly) stretchy. possibly linen..or something else. it doesn't have to be smart/formal. it just doesn't have to be cargo shorts or sports shorts.

ive got some black shorts that ill be wearing tomorrow. yipee!

I'd look at hiking shorts from Go Outdoors or similar. They usually have a few decent pairs that come in that stretchy fabric

I'm pretty sure they are stretchy. I wear them all the time and find them comfortable.

M+S do a great range of very lightweight / walking type shorts ... baggy and just above the knee.

Wear them a lot here in Singapore - light cool and comfortable. And quick drying

smart enough for office wear in hot weather
I have half a dozen pairs of these and wear them continually between about March and October, always with boat shoes so I can slip my feet out to 'air'.

can't remember

The Aircon in our office broke down today ! As we are an all male team and do not have customers or visitors coming in we all stripped down to our boxers - it wasn't a great sight I have to admit !
