One of my hobbies is to not watch certain TV programmes. I specialise in not watching EastEnders and Coronation Street, and I particularly enjoy not watching Strictly Come Dancing or any football match.
I used i watch football and enjoyed it, until they all started getting down on one knee. Now I can't stomach it.singlecoil said:

Sounds like you believe none of those shows are particularly entertaining. As long as you don't start preaching to people who do watch those shows I reckon it will be reet. Anyway, to move on from religion (always a good idea) Corn Tacos are so much nicer than those soft things they do in authentic Mexican restaurants.
Not Taco Bell (obviously), but give me an Old El Paso dinner kit and mince, salad, cheese and salsa, I'll knock the "proper" stuff out the park.

Does part of that hobby involve telling people who watch them that they are wrong, it's not entertainment, they are wasting their time because no matter how much they believe it is possible it is not possible to be entertained by such programs? There is a name for that hobby, it's called trolling.

Now I can't stomach it.Never seen all the endless dross on tv like happy valley, line of duty, death in paradise, doc martin and so on. With a family of course I have to watch strictly and other stuff but I’d happy if I never saw it.

On a lighter note, my unpopular opinion is that I am not interested in Happy Valley and wish the BBC would stop going on about it.

My wife and I have been watching Coronation St for 40 years, and we reckon moaning about the declining standards is the glue that holds our marriage together. e-honda said:

Evidently your hobby is attacking straw men.

ExactlyEvidently your hobby is attacking straw men.
The people who knowingly set me up with the straw men to attack are trolls and you've just admitted to it.

I used i watch football and enjoyed it, until they all started getting down on one knee. Now I can't stomach it.Keeping the politics out of it. I like going to live games, I almost never watch on the TV unless I'm with a few friends in the pub. Also that means the local team, not premiership. My unpopular opinion on that among friends is that I think they're wrong for not supporting the local team but that they do support premiership teams in cities miles away. I'm sure that one has already been done but I'm not reading the whole thread to find out .

I honestly can't see how what the players choose to do for a few seconds before the match affects the game at all. It just seems like an unnecessary point of principle.Did you used to watch and enjoy it when fans used to make racist chants? Perhaps if people were more discerning, and boycotted matches for that, then players might not have felt it necessary to do the knee thing.
I'm not really a fan of political correctness but, if I were a black footballer who'd faced racist abuse then I'd be pretty appreciative of the gesture made by my fellow players. Even more so when it's done defiantly in the face of needless criticism.
