I support Israel (though Netanyahu needs to be gone)
Not that unpopular. I support Israel and I think Netanyahu should refuse to negotiate anything until all of the remaining hostages are released. Then, and only then, should any talks take place. Hostages first. Talk second.I support Israel (though Netanyahu needs to be gone)
However I think the sad fact is there will be few, if any hostages left alive.
I don't like chips.
When you go to the chip shop they're always undercooked, greasy damp and limp. Most cafes do the oven chip style, thin chips that are better, but go cold quickly. What happened to the chips that were cut with one of those pressy things then put in a fking hot pan of oil in a basket. Ok we had the odd house burn down, but at least we had proper chips!

Sounds like you may need to try a different chip shop. When you go to the chip shop they're always undercooked, greasy damp and limp.
A good chip should be hot and crisp imo, with a soft fluffy centre, like McDonald's fries but in a full traditional UK chip size. Most chips are a soggy, greasy, lukewarm congealed lump. Utter garbage. A National disgrace. What beats me is folks saying "Great chips" when it's just the usual mediocre crap.
Pubs can generally serve good chips (unless labelled as hand cut triple cooked, that always rings alarm bells for me, it's usually a Jenga stack of misery or something mediocre in a separate fking mini basket). Traditional British chips shops just can't seem to do decent chips, their core product, they're just crap at it!
These look OK.
But this is what one usually gets, and far better than most.

The average British chippy serves a pretty crap chip imo. Our town has an "Award Winning" chippy, highly rated. It's chips are slightly below average at best imo. We have several chippy's in our town, none of them can make a good chip, you have to go to one of the kebab or pizza places for good chips. In Derby and the surrounding suburbs, towns and villages, going out for some distance, there are only a couple that truly make great chips.

You sound like you’re Derbyshire way, have you tried George’s tradition? IMO the best fish and chips you can buy, although the Loughborough branch shut down a year or two back but whenever I had them from there they were never poor quality, a Derbyshire company.
