I do apologise, I have a habit of buggering off for a few hours then 'skim reading' the thread. I then go back and have a proper look.

I've taken a fair bit of interest in the 'Tony's Food Van' thing. I lived in a small village in Norfolk around the mid 1980's, we used to get one similar to that come around on a Friday evening.
Did some lovely fish and chips, got some nice 'batter bits' too if you asked for them. Magnificent burgers too, if you were really hungry. Proper things they were, they were never sold by weight as in quarter or half pounders. Just bloody huge.

I'm just wondering if the food van was just a Norfolk thing, or did anyone else have a similar experience?

I wish we had one around here now. I'd be out like a bloody shot.
Spent some time in Cornwall a while back and stayed in the arse end of nowhere on Bodmin Moor.....long story best not told.....but the hamlet i was staying in had a van come round every wednesday to sell fish and chips and i believe it still does. They weren't bad either.

glenrobbo, you could have come off the motorway at Duxford, headed west for a bit, then followed the scenic roads through Melbourne and cut back onto the road you wanted up near Trumpington.

The main hold up is north of Trumpington where they’re building the biggest housing development in Cambs both sides of the road. I haven’t found a way round it yet without going to Royston and via Kneesworth and Caxton up the old A10 to Huntingdon.
Catches me out especially when going round corners in two wheels to get home quick then getting stuck for half a hour when it’s down to one lane.

M25 Heathrow Wednesday - artic crashed into central reservation and side was ripped off. Inside we’re two chunks of masonry like a wall that had been demolished. These weren’t any wall they were massive - at least 5m thick with plaster remaining both sides. And each bit about 3m x 4m.

What’s being demolished that big?

All I can say is I’ve successfully specified something out of its world stock (1600 basins) so cocked up the project.

We used to go into pubs and buy every box of matches they had. I’ve clearly gone onto bigger and better things.

That reminds me, the Chief Constable's been looking for you. Over at the Control Tower last night, he was.

Something to do with a supermarket apparently.

Did I mention I've still got Man Flue?

She kicked me out of bed last night due to coughing and I slept on the sofa with the Dog. At least she got a good night's sleep frown

Whats really annoying is that she gave it to me in the first place rage

The lorry had hit a pole taken that down but left the lorry front on it, then gone down 50m of Armco before stopping.
The bits were so ridiculously big I can only think they were for a film set but even then...

I thought you probably would be, it's a good thing I can still run reasonably quickly smile

We'll see how it goes. Badly, knowing my luck. Never mind, it'll still be a good day out.

I've just put a curry in my slow cooker for tonight - 2lbs of beef shin and curry powder imported from Mauritius. It'll be amazing.

There's enough in there for about many, many portions. All are welcome biggrin

Genuine pointless movie trivia alert : as well as taking part in villainous schemes and stroking pussies, Charles Grey dubbed his voice in various films for Jack Hawkins after Hawkins contracted throat cancer.

ION, the wee Cooper S passed its MOT yesterday but is booked in again next week for some suspension tweaks, just in time for the Stanford Hall do next month.
