Tell Us Something Really Trivial About Your Life (Vol 32)
Discussion
it's unlikely anyone on this thread may remember. but around 8-9 months ago i mentioned how i was to be an uncle. and was rather nervous at the idea of it.
well now i'm officially an uncle. my brother and sis-in law have a baby girl!
they haven't come home yet, so i haven't seen it (her). so hasn't really sunk in properly. i'm 32. ive had cousins had kids, but it hasn't bothered me as they all live 8000 miles away and i only visit them on holidays every 2-3years. this has. im not exactly the kind of person who is like 'OMG AWWWW SO CUUUTE, its a baby!!!'

Just remember two things, never EVER show weakness, they feed on ot, and it's perfectly fine to hold them at arms length, at all times, preferably while wearing gloves, and grimacing!!! well now i'm officially an uncle. my brother and sis-in law have a baby girl!

Uncle Ambuletz.
Nice. Congratulations.
Spoil em. Give em back. Leave others to deal with sugar rush.
Marvellous.
Bang on! Having Mrs P’s neices and nephews here for the annual camping weekend soon. Fizzy pop, ice creams chocolate and crisps for 3 days. Bonfires, driving round the fields and air rifling. Hand ‘em back knackered, over excited and stung to kingdom come by nettles. If there’s an A&E visit it just adds to their experiences.Nice. Congratulations.

I've come in to work this morning and some comedian has taken the wireless receiver for my mouse from my Laptop's babe station.
Seriously. WTF?
They are only trying to preserve your eyesight, JTW. Seriously. WTF?
It's a well known fact that too much watching that stuff makes you go blind.
Morning all
I've already had two unsuccessful attempts to wake up this morning.
I have decided to postpone the idea for another half an hour at least.
I may go downstairs and make a cup of tea to see if that has any affect.

It may be too late, ApO. The trail has gone cold.
Timmy45 has been missing for a long time.
Congratulations Uncle Ambuletz!
I remember your post about your trepidation over the prospect of becoming a Nuncle.
There is no need whatsoever to be fearful.
Just make some avuncular noises and say how proud you are of your brother and sister-in-law's amazing achievement, and what a lovely baby niece she is.
A suitable present related to the date of birth of the baby usually goes down well, or a cash gift to start a savings account for the child would be appreciated.
Then just wing it from there.
You'll soon get the hang of it.
