That's a very posh and expensive version, I suspect most people remember something like this:

We had a really sad one last night. Post about a little old lady had 2 dogs stolen by 2 males in a white van. I immediately called custard on it but watched how it played out.
Turned out someone had the wrong end of the stick. The lady had dementia. Her dogs were rehomed a while back. Very sad.

Unfortunately our local 'newspaper' took a facebook story and ran it as fact. It's still there now. It's sending half the community into a dog theft panic and the other half into annoyance that they are pushing a story that didn't happen for clicks.

I'd love to know the local Police figures on actual dog theft. Any men in white vans wouldn't need to steal. Just head down to the local estate where they will find half a dozen free running staffs and huskies without the need for aggression.

Shared locally - despite it being almost exactly a hundred miles away...

I'm also refraining from suggesting it just might be someone who's lost two dogs on the walk...
Was he calling Orthrus?

This reeks of failure smile they have watched a farming documentary and thought great lets do that!

Would imagine farming is horrid work, physically exhausted yourself in order to stress out about making it work financially!

Our village is next to a golf course, which has several lakes on it.

Over lock down, the course kindly let us walk around it on the buggy paths.

Off the buggy path, the golf course dug a small hole and didn't fence it off. Queue someone moaning on FB about how the hole isn't safe....yet just over the way from it is a massive lake. I wrote a comment back, but had to delete it as it was a bit harsh, I'd had a bad day dealing with other idiots.

If the postcode on gumtree is correct then I'm pretty sure it is local school... therefore a member of staff there.
Normally wouldn't take long to find out more, but currently shielding so not been at work for ages.
Work is Royal mail- I normally cover that exact postcode at least once a week.😀

It's all dogs on my local page at the moment.

Lost dog, dog stolen by men in van, dog spotted running down the high street, another stray dog spotted, don't let your dog drink out of or swim in the canal as there's some sort of fuel spillage in it..., dog walker needed, what's the best layby etc.

Latest one "Dog walkers please be aware.
Today my dog has ended up at the vets for eating drugs (possibly Cannabis?) while walking on the canal. This is the second time it's happened on a canal walk!!!!"

There's a massive drug problem within Dog circles. They do it for some relief from their overbearing pathetic owners.

On this note I’ve mentioned on Facebook and on some TV and even PH! “Jane and Dan and their 2 rescue dogs” or “I was walking my rescue dog”. NO!!! You were walking your dog, TV presenter it’s just Jane and Dan and their 2 dogs. It’s like they should be made a saint because they have a dog that they didn’t get as a puppy.

Our local group recent post warning of a man knocking on doors asking if they need a window cleaner.

It arose suspicion ironically because he DIDN'T have a white van!

Lots of tagging fellow Karens.

Of course dog theft was mentioned.

When it was pointed out that it was in fact a real window cleaner who is well known and old school hence going door to door the Karen's soon started the 'well he shouldn't be doing that', 'you can't be too careful' etc... to try and justify their behaviour.
