Yeah. The "instructions" when followed tags the individual the OP stated she doesn't like instead of deleting her.

So, said person gets a notification she's been tagged by x - and then sees the full post and why/how it's happened...

Something is on fire.

Somewhere.

5 different posts, 100s of replies, loads of photos of smoke in the sky.

Some speculation.

Zero facts.

There's also a man running around the town covered in blood apparently. The two things are seemingly unconnected.

That might as well be the first chapter of the next Reacher doorstop.

Tenner says it's a recycling / waste management centre. Seems to be the only places that catch fire these days scratchchin

Despite more posts in the night and a "YappApp" article I'm still not much wiser, at best it was a barn in a field that the fire brigade couldn't get to so they left it to burn out on its own.

Some land on the edge of our town is being developed. It's currently a field.

Before it began, the developer shrouded the hedges around the field in netting. This is to stop birds nesting in the hedgerows before the hedges are removed.

This is, according to the local Facebook group, "cruel" and "wrong" for the following reasons:

1. Birds may get trapped in said netting.
2. Birds should be allowed to nest where they like
3. We have enough houses in the town
4. Houses are too expensive - cheaper houses need to be built for FTB'ers and should be sold for no more than £125k
5. This used to be a nice, small town but now it's overdeveloped and the town can't cope and the trucks are too noisy and where's the bypass and how will the Doctors manage and I remember when you could leave your front door unlocked.

It beats 25 posts with a picture of the sunset I guess...... rolleyes

Netting shouldn't be put up during nesting season anyway, though this is all a precursor for ripping out said hedgerow. Hedgerows should be retained as a wildlife corridor, it's just lazy developers at work.

We had a power cut in the village last night.

8 different posts from people asking if any ones power was out. Then people replying what street they are on and had no power.

If they looked out the window they would have noticed now lights on. But maybe thats too sensible.

Has there ever been a time when that didn't happen? I think awareness is greater now than ever.

The post indicates the netting was done prior to nesting season, to prevent them choosing those hedgerows as nests.

You can't always retain hedgerows, especially if they run through a development. Indeed, that'd often lead to scenarios where homeowners have a hedgerow boundary enforced upon them, with them being liable for the maintenance of it... That won't end well!

Indeed

The development has been approved - it's happening.

Therefore, it's better to prevent nesting than face having to move nests.

Mate of mine was in Singapore standing at a restaurant entrance, looking at the menu when a 3-legged dog ran out yelping...
