They use dropped kerbs. Ever tried getting a motability scooter up or down a normal kerb?
The scooter user said that they couldn’t go on the road with that particular scooter, so presumably had to sit and wait for the car to be moved. Can understand the frustration to be fair, not clear on why it couldn’t go on the road though.pincher said:

There’s one right next to her! Why on earth not just cross the road and carry on her way? She could have been sat behind that car for hours, waiting for it to move shih tzu faced said:

She could have been sat behind that car for hours, waiting for it to move That notwithstanding, my point was that she could have crossed the road, rather than ridden along the road (although I don't see why not, if it's for a short distance)

Dunno but my guess would be not far.

Just to be clear on this. Are you OK with the car being parked on a solid white line, blocking the pavement, and the passenger being verbally abusive when asked to move? That notwithstanding, my point was that she could have crossed the road, rather than ridden along the road (although I don't see why not, if it's for a short distance)

Of course not - I really didn’t think that it needed any affirmation that it’s not ok to park there/like that? Just assumed that was a given. Antony Moxey said:
Your guess? Doesn't help much when they're in the road, level with the car, and then find out the next dropped kerb's a couple of hundred yards down the road. And given you don't know where they're going, there might be a perfectly valid reason for not crossing the road (assuming there are plenty of drops on the other side to accommodate their jounrey.
Yep, just a guess. I see motability scooters in the road quite often and whilst I might think ‘what are you doing?’, if I could plainly see that their progress on the pavement was being blocked, I’d slow down and wait or go round them, in the same way that I would for a cyclist. pincher said:

I have three copies of that sitting in the library. I thought that was a pie in the sky price, but seems they do go for a bit. I leafed through one the other day. The line 'Nig**r would have turned red if his face wasn't so black', underlined just how far things have moved on.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
