There’s one right next to her! Why on earth not just cross the road and carry on her way? She could have been sat behind that car for hours, waiting for it to move wobble

The scooter user said that they couldn’t go on the road with that particular scooter, so presumably had to sit and wait for the car to be moved. Can understand the frustration to be fair, not clear on why it couldn’t go on the road though.

Indeed there is. And how far away is the one the other side of the car?

It maybe that the user was advised not to try and bump up and down kerbs, especially as the scooter had been loaned rather than being their own. I'm not entirely sure we can expect the user to convey usage policy such that no-one reading it would be left in any doubt as to what that policy required of the user.

Dunno but my guess would be not far.

That notwithstanding, my point was that she could have crossed the road, rather than ridden along the road (although I don't see why not, if it's for a short distance)

Just to be clear on this. Are you OK with the car being parked on a solid white line, blocking the pavement, and the passenger being verbally abusive when asked to move?

Your guess? Doesn't help much when they're in the road, level with the car, and then find out the next dropped kerb's a couple of hundred yards down the road. And given you don't know where they're going, there might be a perfectly valid reason for not crossing the road (assuming there are plenty of drops on the other side to accommodate their jounrey.

Of course not - I really didn’t think that it needed any affirmation that it’s not ok to park there/like that? Just assumed that was a given.

Yep, just a guess. I see motability scooters in the road quite often and whilst I might think ‘what are you doing?’, if I could plainly see that their progress on the pavement was being blocked, I’d slow down and wait or go round them, in the same way that I would for a cyclist.

If it is a low powered one, it could well max out at 3mph, unlike the proper ones that can do 10-15mph. Pretty dangerous to be trundling along at such a low speed.

On a local FB page over the weekend someone had half a dozen ice lollies going free to collector as she didn't have room in her freezer for them after going shopping.

Second reply asked if they could be delivered.

I think the councilists are on a mission to have the word "have" expunged from the dictionary. This abomination and the constant use of "Could/should/would of" would suggest they have some sort of problem with it.

I have three copies of that sitting in the library. I thought that was a pie in the sky price, but seems they do go for a bit. I leafed through one the other day. The line 'Nig**r would have turned red if his face wasn't so black', underlined just how far things have moved on.
