Up at 5.30 and did a couple of hours work then back home about 8.30.

Ate half a giant puffball, with some chorizo and tomatoes on toast, for breakfast. Sat in the garden with a coffee and watched the birds.

In-laws then drove us down to the Mid Somerset show where we drank cider and looked at cows. I spent most of the time entertaining and tiring out their JRT Douglas:

Got chips on the way home and then watched Fishing with Bob and Paul and now watching Harry Potter and the Great Family History. With a couple of beers.

Perfect.

Today consisted of waking up around 10, got up, had some cereal, showered etc and into sports kit ready to head out to run a line in a female football match, got there at 1, ko at 2, did that, nice easy game, into the bar after for food, watch first half of the Leicester match, drive home at ht for the second half, chill out watching that, play a bit of fifa, now watching music videos on YouTube, contemplating Domino's.

Rounded off with trying to get an early night for 430 wake up for work tomorrow.

Didn't manage to get out for our second walk today as we had some friends turn up out of the blue.

Still a nice afternoon though!

Went to Brands Hatch for the first time in nearly 30 years for Festival Italia. It started to rain at about 10.30 so went and sat in the car for an hour with no sign of it stopping so we left as i remember it can be a nightmare getting out of the grass car parks once they get really wet. Stopped at 3 pubs to try and get lunch but they were all fully booked so went home ! Oh and the sun had come out by that time. A totally wasted day !

Usually it's a couple of jobs round the house , a bit of shopping and then off to the pub for a couple with the mrs before lunch. No pub this week so washed and hoovered the car for the first time in 6 months..laugh

Several years ago i would have been sleeping off a hangover, and rugby from the day before then deciding what to do of the many things i could do.

Now, 0630hrs wake up every single day, lay in of 30 minutes, and then small child turns up. Then it's go time until 1930hrs.

Sunday's is family fun day, and all about partner, him, and soon to be his brother. If i can schedule it in in advance then i get to do activities, but this means rotating saturday with sunday, or if i am realllly lucky i can do something both days.

In a few years (16), i suspect it will rotate back to OP's approach.

Every Sunday I remind myself of the fact I made a wonderful decision to not have any kids and my Sundays, and almost every day, are absolute bliss.

Yesterday,

Got up, had some breakfast, some of the Cinnamon sugar stuff the kids go mad for, missus went to the gym for a 10am class, was going to go and then decided I really couldnt be arsed that early.

Sat round feeling a bit guilty at my sloth so dug my bike out and went for a 20 mile run, home for lunch, did a few jobs and then we were both bored.

I suggested jokingly we play Monopoly, so we did and I won.

Watched telly, got stuff ready for work

Life in the fast lane...

Same here.

Sunday is usually case of working on one of the cars, going to a car show, biking or a lazy day.

Yesterday I spent a good chunk of the day at the Retro Gathering show at Shelsley Walsh, a fantastic event, highly recommend!!!

Yesterday was quite a nice day, kids slept in a little for a change, unlike the previous days 05:45 awakening. Think I finally decided I should drag myself out of bed at 8am, wife had already disappeared.

Went downstairs, had a cup of tea, watched whatever was on TV for about half an hour and thought I should probably crack on. Showered and dressed for the day, back downstairs another cuppa and a few crumpets for breakfast as well as doing a couple for my daughter.

Had friends coming over for a BBQ later so moved the garden chairs into the sun to dry out from the overnight rain and tidied a few other things in the garden. Had a bit of a tidy up indoors too (always last minute when having people over). Not sure where the time went after that. Cleaned out the BBQ in readiness and waited around a bit for friends to turn up, due at 12:00 but got the text to say they'd be another 20 mins.

They arrived, more tea and chatting, sat in the garden for a bit and then decided it was time to get the coals going. Filled the chimney starter and fired it up. Enough of tea, Prosecco opened for the girls, beer for the boys. Had a few chips and dips whilst waiting for it to get going.

BBQ established, put the chicken on, few drops of rain rolleyes Carried on drinking, eating & socialising indoors whilst popping out from time to time to tend to the meat. Eventually finished cooking it all and we ate. Left the kids to play whilst we rubbed our bellies.

Rest of the day passed by and was good to catch up with old mates, the kids moved indoors to play Minecraft rolleyes

Friends eventually left at around 6:30, cleared up a few things, finished the remains of the Prosecco with the wife then opened a bottle of red. Kids watched a movie and eventually agreed to go up for baths. Got them into bed some time after that... Bit of red wine left so poured the rest of that. Watched an episode of the Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan on iPlayer, now struggling to stay awake, bed shortly after.

Started learning to read music and play the digital piano I bought on Saturday.

Chord inversions where what I remember most.
