Hiding to nothing OP , clearly states all the facts to be seen by all . Just hope it has a current MOT and runs , failing that I wouldn't even bother collecting your grand prize . They are fairly bullet proof vehicles and parts are readily available , you could strike sort of lucky with an old barge .

Isn’t the whole point of the competition that you will receive the Escalade used for the billboard near The Open?

Which is what I said in my post on the previous page.

It’s a pretty amusing comp and a pretty amusing thing to win. I’d roll about in it for a month then punt it and be pretty happy with that result. I wouldn’t be emailing paddy power to complain that’s for sure!
Email already sent unfortunately.

I hear what you are saying, as I'm trying to keep an open mind about the whole thing as it's a strange situation. Not every day something like this happens.

The only bit that bugs me is that what I thought I had won wasn't actually the case. Hopefully you can see the euphoria of winning something huge and then funding out it's not quite what I was led to believe. I take my own portion of the blame of that too, just getting carried away with it all.

This is an example of the day I won, family WhatsApp

Celebrating with my mates

You can see its pretty clear I was over the moon and thought I had won a 30k car

After that, I spend the next couple of weeks looking at YouTube vids of the Escalade Tiger was driving back in 2009 (a mk3) and looking at air intake upgrades, exhaust upgrades, what kind of tuning it can take. So yeah, today's has been tinged with disappointment.

I guess I'll need to start to start looking at upgrades for the previous gen car now!

Unless you can SORN it properly (and that would incur storage costs), the car is not free.

Some thoughts for the legal eagles...

You will have to tax and insure it. Do you want to spend £500 on a £5000 car that doesn't meet your requirements?

You may need to MOT it soon. What are your contingencies if it fails?

Now, I'm going to read some more of the thread - and may need to delete this if it's already been asked smile

it isn't paddy powers fault that you failed to read the terms and conditions. I wonder if in telling them you didn't read them you could void your entry, which might actually save you some money.

Ok, ok. Top sleuthing.

Let me just say, Powerful Patrick haven't responded to my email from earlier this eve and we'll see what they come back with.

This is the initial picture for the comp

It's a MkIII escalade. I've actually won a MkII

Here is the prize draw. Based on the image, and the video below, I THOUGHT I had won a Mk3 Escalade worth 30k.

https://twitter.com/paddypower/status/115362588345...

Only to find out today, it's a 2003 worth a whole lot less.

You never know, they maybe said its worth 30k because they are going to pimp it and that's why it's been nearly a month and I still haven't got the car. So it's important to note, nothing is clear yet as the car hasn't been delivered yet.
Did you read the small print at the bottom?

Looks like you genuinely believed you were getting one thing based on an excitable presenter and a graphic designer who probably doesn’t know what’s being depicted in one Google Image result from the next. I doubt PP set out to deceive, there were very specific details of the prize provided with the Tweets they sent out, you didn’t need to look too hard to work out exactly what was being given away.

My niece has a brand new one of these the Escalade ESV in New York for going to red carpet things as she is a successful model. It is stunning and huge and was about $100k. Can’t believe they were that much 16 yrs ago. That Twitter video clearly says £30k.

You won a car, you assumed it to be worth £30k based on some flakey video, even though the t&c’s clearly state it was 16 years old, and now you want to complain?

Read the whole thread now.

You will be lucky if they didn't just stick a chain on the rear axle, rip it out of the poster and let it drop 30 feet.

Ts & Cs said something like "in the condition after it's removed from the poster"

Yes, I read the small print. It just says not tigers actual car, but the model he was driving (which was back in 2009) so I assumed, incorrectly, what I had won. Its only when you go into t's and c's (which you need to search for) that you realise it 2003.

To be fair, even a 2009 model isn't 30k.

I'd be well chuffed with an Escalade no matter what age as they were always the best of the best when I was growing up (movies/music videos etc) so even to waft around in one for a month or so would be amazing.

Shame you're in NI otherwise I would've seriously thought about buying it from you if you didn't want it. (at a discounted I know it cost you nothing price lol)

I got an alert on my phone, watched the video and thought I had won a 30k car. That's the point of the thread.

I haven't been arsey at all. I dropped them an email and let them know what I thought had happened and that I was surprised to find out different today.

I'm interested in what people think which is why I made the thread. Misleading/genuine error/or 'nothing to see here' please move along.

I'm not getting uptight about it or anything. As I said earlier, kids are going to love it regardless!

Nobody has been killed in this episode so all is well smile
