Who's at the beach?
Discussion
I'm actually working and also the rest of the bank holiday, however if I wasn't, as much as I would like to be there, I wouldn't be going to the beach as the whole world and his wife will be there too; the traffic!!
The wife always says, "oh it's lovely" shall we go to the beach?" err no.

Nope, North Dorset countryside where I live. The Sandbanks beach/Bournemouth is unbearable on a day like this.
Yep full of Londoners down for the day and traffic jams. Bloody horrible. Currently in the Isle of Man for the Grand Prix. Very sunny but with a nice sea breeze.

Too right - I’m sat at home about to fire up the bbq. Most of Dorset is a no go this weekend anyway due to the steam fair... I’m sure one day I got the last parking space in the whole of Poole, after driving around for about 2 hours.

Despite being 3 miles away from the nearest Cornish beach and tens of them in the local area, i for one will be avoiding them like the plague.
Last time we took the dog to the beach was beginning of last week in the Cornish 'mizzle' and it was great.
Nice and nearly empty.
Roll on end of September into October when the Emmett's have cleared off and there are still some warm, sunny days to enjoy peace and quite on our beaches.

A friend of mine lived in charlton Marshall, and last year it took him 2 hours to get from his front door to the entrance of the steam fair. Not for me either!! I love old stuff, but not to the extent of sitting in that kind of traffic...

Come on you know you can find nice quiet beaches even this weekend .Last time we took the dog to the beach was beginning of last week in the Cornish 'mizzle' and it was great.

Why ? because people are lazy and if they can't park at the beach there not interested .
In Brittany at the moment, today drove from Sainte Marine to Erquy, thought we would stop at Les Rosaires for an ice cream, crepe, etc as it was chuffing hot 34c or so.
The place was madness, parking up the road in for about 1/2 mile! The usual mad French driving exacerbated by no parking and scorchio temperatures.
