We did Tenby earlier in the summer and are in Newquay-ish this week. Stark contrast in the numbers on the beaches and generally around the place.
We hit Fistral today after getting lucky with parking. Nice enough but it was very busy and a) blowing a gale so windbreakers everywhere and b) the surf is miles from the beach bit so not the greatest family beach with young children. Superb waves though after hiking down to the water.
