Went yesterday afternoon in Swanage, it was rammed near town but not too bad further along. Might go again today but friends are here with a dog who isn't great in the heat. Currently lying in a hammock under the trees while my wife does some gardening. cloud9

Mother Ivy and Constantine today.
Love Constantine .

Had a week at Treyarnon last year and walked round the cliff to Constantine bay .

One of my favourite holiday runs is padstow to porthcothan all along the coast path .

If it means taking my duffel coat off, then I'd rather not.

I was in North Norfolk from Monday (rubbish) until yesterday (lovely). Yes, it's Chelsea-on-Sea, but my defence is that my parents retired there (having practised as GPs slightly further round the Norfolk coast).

Beautiful day in Saundersfoot, sat on the terrace with a coffee and the times, then off for a little paddle and a nap in the sun

He can't, bless him. He's an ageing Rhodesian Ridgeback.

We had a very pleasant kayak to Old Harry's Rocks.

Benllech for us. The usual sandbank sea defences built by the kids...all failed to hold back the tide oddly enough. Pretty rammed at this corner of Anglesey this weekend. Broke the record at the chip shop....nearly an hour wait (thankfully they were bloody good!)

Despite being 3 miles away from the nearest Cornish beach and tens of them in the local area, i for one will be avoiding them like the plague.
Last time we took the dog to the beach was beginning of last week in the Cornish 'mizzle' and it was great.
Nice and nearly empty.
Roll on end of September into October when the Emmett's have cleared off and there are still some warm, sunny days to enjoy peace and quite on our beaches.
Don't get too smug. Many & all sorts are deserting our cities especially Londonstani to seek refuge in the likes of Cornwall in the belief that such places are too far from what is so unpleasant about our country. So enjoy your sense of isolation from reality whilst you can.

Was at West Wittering beach today. Mobbed. Was queuing to get in the car park at 8:45 and left about 12:30, must have passed 8miles of traffic queuing the other way to get in. Beautiful beach though.
