Bum things did turn up on Saturday. Just a pair of knickers with 2 round removable pads. They aren't bad actually, though I thought they looked obviously fake. Might stick them in my jeans and see if the other half notices, though very much doubt he will rolleyes

Christmas party is now fancy dress on a Circus theme so I decided Fortune Teller was the way forward and ordered myself a crystal ball. It was cheap. About £1.80.
Note to self. Check sizes...

Conflated both parts of that as you walking around with two of those in your pants.

Once I'd correctly read it, I'm not overly surprised, about what I expected.
I've seen those fortune teller balls advertised. Even the large ones are pretty small.

Hahah now that would give me the arse of a Kardashian....
It changes colour so I've put it on the bathroom windowsill in case I fancy a rave in the bath. As it transpires, my local Argos were selling off Halloween stuff and I managed to buy a normal, human sized crystal ball for £3.50 so all is not yet lost.

Two of my chinese speciality orders turned up last week.

3 Thermometer probes - all worked fine and were within a degree or two of each other when tested. Result, $18 instead of $100 for branded ones.

1 Thermocouple probe (2 came in a pack). One worked fine, one no response when tested. Thankfully build quality was 100% Chinese with braided wire that hadn't been stripped properly. Quick tidy up, tighten connections, screw back together - boom.

So far, so good.
Boom? That's quality control for you hehe

Reassuring absence of anything that looked like a kite mark or even rudimentary "QC" sticker.

It was for a Heatermeter that i've built: www.heatermeter.com. Supposed to be a cheapy project to keep me entertained over Winter before realising that the Raspberry Pi I had lying around wasn't compatible, and I didn't have any of the input probes. Lucky magic dragon boat number 4 electronics company to the rescue.

You've just reminded me of thd time I bought some "gazing globes" from AliExpress for the garden, sizes definitely should have been checked and checked again. They did seem incredibly cheap wobble

It's fine, and you tell people it means that you can only see what is going to happen next week as it is a miniature crystal ball.

Both of those made me howl.
I'm really really good at not checking sizes. I do the food shop online and many a time have ordered a bargain only to find it's in miniature. Husband will often joke about lilliputian food after I ordered what I thought was a big tub of ice cream and what came was akin to one of the cinema ones biggrin
He's still taking the proverbial over the ball.

How difficult was it, and would you have needed to remove the steering wheel to fit it (I can see in your case, the absence of a car). Mildly tempted by an Alcantara one for the Audi.

They reckon you can do it in situ but I wouldn’t want to. I’d rate it 7/10 for difficulty, it was just super fiddly with the stitching. If i did it again (which I probably will) I’ll use a lot more of the double sided tape!!

Thanks! Will have a ponder. Don't want to take the wheel out, and don't really want to do it in the car either, it being 'fking cold' in the garage right now.

It does appeal, though.....

Clip-on torch has just arrived. 1 AA battery, LED, metal case. Will see how long it lasts at work...

I've already accidentally blinded myself, my wife, and the dog with it.

Looks like Tokyo Treat, judging by the orange box. About a tenner via Groupon recently.

Is that the December offering? I'm still waiting for mine.

It is yes. I did think it might be a bit more festive but it’s quite a good kit compared to last months.

It was from the £10 groupon codes. I also revived a few weeks ago a japan crate. Both very similar with what you get. Japan crates shipping is faster mind you.

I would recommend both but only if you get the first month cheap and then cancel. Not worth the £30 ish monthly subscription.

Have you guys compared Aliexpress or gearbest to Wish?

I only ask because the postage on wish annoys me and i find if i check the former 2 ist quite often free postage and the item price hasnt increased. It could be because I am getting this delivered to Germany, rather than the UK, but I find the Wish postage rather high.

obviously, im not trying to teach you masters of frivolity to suck eggs. Im just wondering if anyone else has noticed.

I've never used Wish, just Banggood. AliExpress and Gearbest - I don't think I've ever paid for postage on anything I've bought - I just presumed Wish was someone fronting orders from the above (and others) and then making them look like they aren't coming from China so people here are more likely to feel OK about ordering.
