She told me on Sunday she stopped taking her anti depressants whilst on holiday as they made her feel nothing this was after a few days of her feeling very down and I could tell.

She went to the doctors on yesterday because she has a slight sniffle I told her she needs to talk to them about how she feels but she didn't and said she didn't feel comfortable doing so with the kids there.

She is definitely depressed she mentioned if we should we do a double suicide last night. I told her that the girls need us both.

I don't think she would ever do it. Probably only said it because she was tired we had a terrible night the baby has thrush in her mouth we think.

Today she seems OK.

When I finish work I go home and take over as much as possible so she can just relax.

It is very hard living with someone who has depression.

She would be better just doing a line at the doctors rather than sniffling afterwards

I don't have any advice for you OP. But all jokes aside, I do feel for you on this one.

You're a stronger man than I to make it as far as you have, I had to call it a day with my ex. Have you guys tried actually going to some sort of relationship/family counselling?

Hi TD,

I have read the thread on and off but wanted to comment when i read this.

YOU need to take control of this now, contemplating suicide and asking you to do it with her.. that feeling doesn't just go away.

'' Today she seems ok'' I can assure you she bloody well isn't.

No, i'm sorry mate but time to step up here. She needs help. Speak to her family or a professional privately to discuss your options for her are.

Situations like this, its impossible to tell whats going through her mind.

Women are bombarded with top fives and tens of what their man should/shouldn't have, the female media is a complete beast. Find a woman that doesn't subscribe to the hive mind or female validation sites (online dating/instagram) and you should be fine. Also use a healthy dose of self awareness and introspection - no one is perfect

Help and ASAP. Do you have your/her family nearby? Parents, sisters etc? I know with a young family moneys never easy but is there any way at all you could grab a half day a week to take some more pressure off? Depending on who you work for if you approached them confidentially they may be more understanding than you think.

Be sure to get this addressed.

Maybe take her to the docs without the kids and let her open up then which will also be with you there so you get the full picture of what you are dealing with.

They will likely refer her to a specialist for further assessment and then on from there.

This is likely to be the whole reason for her going on POf that evening just ‘ wondering’ what life may have been like as a single and carefree person and not because she was wanting shot of you.

The constant demands of young kids can do strange things to women at times .

Good luck

Then she was on the wrong pills.

There are loads of different SSRI anti depressants.

Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find one that suits you.

I was originally on Paroxetine, which made me feel like a zombie.

I then tried Sertraline, which worked well and had no side effects.

A frequent side effect of stopping the medication is increased anxiety, so if she simply stopped taking them then she will feel even worse.

Get her back to the doctor, without the kids in tow.

If it makes it easier, help her to write down how she feels and how here last anti depressant made her feel.

She can just hand the piece of paper to the doctor. Makes it a lot easier.

Getting this sort of medication right will make a world of difference to her and you might even get a shag.

smile

OP has she found your mobile history with adult work on it yet? Was that the root cause?

We're really not.

If you read posts before your stupid attempt at humour you would see that posts are either about the OP's poor choice of words or, most importantly, suggesting that the OP supports his GF with her depression.
