Met office AMBER thunderstorm warning for the South East, yikes!

Not quite on my patch so I have to settle for just a yellow rain warning.

I'm in the amber zone, Netweather says only 57% chance and not much rain though, guess we'll see

If that amber could shift West about 30 miles, that would be nice.

I'm in Glasgow. It's sunny...

There is a very large blob heading in to the SE on the radar.

Yes, a huge thunder storm on Blitzorg, looks like the main body is going to miss Kent completely. No chance for those of us further West.

They are funny aren't they.

I do have the odd look and I'm sure a week or so ago they were saying at the same time that it is due to be the coldest winter for 30 years in one article and 40 years in another.

Its not a Beast from the East, its not a Weatherbomb, its a "MegaFreeze", which is a poor name and sounds like an Ice Pop, Poundland Super hero or a Bomb the Bass track.

-8 by the end of the month, ok, 14 days, lets see what happens.

its the doom laden prophecies like this that strike terror into my heart,

Like it does every year...

No, their terrible prediction record makes them look stupid and getting it right once isn't an endorsement of their methods.

It is presumably clickbait, though.

A stopped clock is right twice a day and six million monkeys on six million typewriters...

Anyway, where is Puggit, is he frozen in carbonite on the ice planet Hoth?

Is it ever going to stop raining? Must be getting on for a month of heavy showers. Redhill, Surrey.

Bit chillier tonight but still not cold.

It has been mad.

Currently very heavy showers and very windy here with lots of tree debris on the roads.

Thoroughly enjoying this Goldilocks weather where it is neither too hot or cold. It is just right.

Colin's fault...

Keep an eye on the weather in Scotland for Friday. GFS is insisting on heavy snow from the borders up to around Aviemore, including the central belt.

I'd be inclined to bin it usually, but it's so insistent...
