Temp got up to 18.7c out the back today. Had a snooze in the sun for an hour after work, resulting in a slightly red face and chest.

Then took the opportunity to give the car a good run whilst the roads are quiet.

Work should remain quiet for the rest of the week, so more of the same over the next few days and I will be happy.

I wonder if this all might have played a little different if it had been belting it down for the last week

Absolutely.

Managed to mow the lawn here, even used the strimmer to edge the grass around the borders. Also planted some onions with my 3 year old daughter, cleaned off the bird feeder and put out some seeds. amongst what has been a depressing time, doing some family gardening in the sun was actually, really quite pleasant. Low on supplies though so not looking forward to our next food shop frown

Cannot rule out widespread snow showers on Sunday based on this:

High sits to our NW, clockwise winds dragging down Arctic air. Upper air cold enough to cause snow, wobbles in the isobars indicate chance of precipitation. Coldest air looks to be over East Anglia, in to London area.

It almost reached 20 in N Wales yesterday.

Yet this thread is far from dead.

As do I, Bill. Got bored of the cold and wet. It's been really nice going out for some exercise at lunch. Don't want that to change!

No snow please! Being stuck in the house means needing to be outside in the garden as much as possible! It’s glorious at the moment.

Enjoyed a barbecue in the garden in Leeds today. Stunning and warm.

Weather is odd at the minute. Currently now its clear blue skies, warm, lovely. Feels like summer. Over night temps are very low, very cold in the mornings.

Enjoying it though, reminds me what I like about the spring and summer, especially after such a dull winter.

It's perfectly normal when you have high pressure weather system in the early spring/late winter, think back to last year when we had the same but in late Feb glorious in the sunshine cold in the shade and at night. The Sun isn't that strong/shorter days....
