Lovely forecast approaching our area, also snow above 200m turning to rain. Heaviest precip very close to us.

Absolutely amazing stat out of the Met office here, in the 47 days up to November 7th HALF A YEAR'S WORTH of rain fell in parts of South Yorkshire. Clucking bells.

eek Weather warning yesterday basically said it probably won't rain much but if it more than drizzles we're buggered.

We're forecast for another solid 8 hours today, definitely 30mm rain possibly 50mm in that 8 hours. Flood defences went up yesterday. Thank God we're quite a decent way up from the flood plain, when we moved 18 years ago looked at some places that are now right in the firing line. Discounted them for obvious reasons luckily ignoring the local reassurances.

Local reports of main A roads starting to flood albeit still passable with care. There's a ford I go through once a week, saves a big detour, not even going to bother having a look. No doubt someone will have to be pulled out.... again.

There were places the other week which had an (October) month's worth of rain in a day. It is incredible.

Given climate is volatile (some say changing) there really needs to be more done in some places.

-1 out in the New Forest dog walking this morning. Icy cars from the rain last night which had frozen, and ice on the puddles. Drove to work in central Southampton and it didn't warm up much, was only 2 degrees at 9am.

Sounds grim. Hope you manage OK. Whereabouts are you (very approximately)?

It's not even half way through November, and I'm already fed up with a cold damp winter.

What's with the heavy rain last night, followed by frost this am? Isn't one or the other enough FFS?

Our local river - the Uck - has been high again this season, but we're a way off the 'big flood' of 1999, although it does seem to be trying it's best to get back into the High Street down by the railway station. Could be an interesting winter.

Not much fun if you've been inundated and are trying to recover, least of all in cold weather...Mother Nature can be forbidding.

Anyone else have 'RainX' on their windscreen? - first application last week and it stops frost forming...all well and good until the wipers leave a trail that promptly freezes...but it does clear more quickly overall. I wonder how long it will last?

How's the snow out West (beyond Hampshire)?

Isn't it sacrilege to use rainx as a PH'er, because of their sponsorship of Brake

You can use PIAA blades with their magic screen treatment instead.
