No not really, shocking is a fairly uncommon way to go!

I've never been in a helicopter and would happily keep it that way.

Hopefully none of his kids were on board, it seems his eldest daughter quite regularly went to games with him.

"Watch this" gets a lot more dangerous when helicopters are involved.

I read about one where they'd delivered it to this guys house while he was away on a business trip , a newly qualified pilot who couldn't resist having a go when he got back even though it was really windy.

He didn't survive the crash.

I've done it twice. Once in a very old heap (would not repeat) and then in a new 8 seater Augusta (AW109 I think) in the co-pilot seat which was epic and scary. The Augusta felt very advanced.

Its very sad, but,

I have long said Helicopters were invented to keep the number of rich people down as they can end up living too long, no natural predators, good medical care, good nutrition etc so if they dont cane the drugs and booze they can live a long long time, so to even up the odds.....

helicopters are bad enough, but private ones seem that bit more sketchy, I think anyone in aviation needs to be bright methodical, unflappable, keen on detail and not given to showing off but especially so with helicopters, planes sort of make sense but those things are witchcraft and in a constant battle with themselves to stay aloft going where they are pointed.

They are fantastic but not really for folk like me, I know I would find a pylon, hillside or get carried away once I got over the initial trepidation and realised it was great fun.

Then you get two words that should never appear in the same sentence as helicopter, those words being "Home Built".

Yep.

I liked NP, but unlike most of the old R4 comedies, found Just a Minute irritating.
