Yorkshire Walks BBC4
Discussion
I came across this little gem of a programme purely by accident on Monday evening.
It's nothing special really and shouldn't really have appeared on my normal "what to watch now" radar but I ended up watching it all as it was just a nice programme with stunning scenery, a very brief commentary and no background music.
I watched it again last night as it was reasonably local to me, although I'll admit I missed the first few minutes as I'd forgotten about it. I'm also going to try tonight's offering which is from Runswick Bay to Whitby.
I've no idea who the lady presenter is, Shanaz Gulzar apparently, but she's quite interesting in a strange sort of way, especially in some of her off the cuff chats with locals.

It's very relaxing isn't it? I like the use of captions rather than commentary.

I'm very interested in the camera she uses.
It seems its a 3D selfie type as it seems a bit fish eye, but which one.
The pictures are so steady, it must use some hefty electronic stabilisation.
And the pans are so smooth.
Or is all this (and removing the stick from view) done in post production.
Very enjoyable slow TV.

Just watched the Whitby one.
Hmm... well, all I can say is that if you want to improve it then watch it on mute so you don't have to listen to the drivelling ste that comes out of her mouth.
But the no stick is quick clever.
Nice to have an opinion, even if the opinion is not nice.Hmm... well, all I can say is that if you want to improve it then watch it on mute so you don't have to listen to the drivelling ste that comes out of her mouth.

My opinion is that the programme was okay but the presenter was crap - she just spouted garbage. It's a perfectly valid opinion. It's not a case of my opinion "not being nice".It is not that your opinion cannot be valid, it is that it is not “nice”.
I am sure neither of our lives will be changed by this, just my view that your way of expressing your view was not pleasant.
Feedback is a gift, insults are cheap.

.
I've expressed a negative opinion which you therefore deem to be "not nice". That sounds like the old saying that goes along the lines of "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything". I don't subscribe to that view..

Well, can you give an example?
yes. When she was walking along the beach at the start and talking about the shape of sand. Thanks, I can see that. I've walked along plenty of beaches I seen that type of shape made by the sea. And then talking about the sound of the shale etc under her boots. Again, I can hear that. I really don't need someone to tell me that kind of thing because I'm not an idiot.
But then there was the bit about the sprites living in the holes. She spoke about the legend/superstition story. Okay, something interesting.
Most of the time she just stated the obvious, i.e. drivel in my opinion.

It is in no way suggesting you should not have a negative opinion, but that it could be phrased constructively to help others understand your perspective. Your initial post did not give that insight.
Anyway, this is out of proportion and it is beer time for me, as I am on holiday... have a great (what remains of the) day
