Cold hard cash to the value of whatever they feel comfortable giving, but apparently that's socially unacceptable to ask for. I don't really need anything else.

I've asked for a couple of new pairs black Nike shorts with pockets for refereeing.

All I could think of when someone asked me.

So I would suggest something to do with a hobby?

I would like to go for a Christmas drive through an empty world and my present would be the car not breaking down during it. I don't think I'm going to get my present.

If I want something I buy it. If it's too expensive for me then it's certainly too expensive to ask for as a present.
Same here. As a result I rarely receive decent gifts. Sometimes there are some gems though if people know you/your tastes well enough. Got some great art from friends over the years.

I’m buying myself a motorbike for xmas. Don’t expect to receive anything else.

My father in law is giving me a b and q voucher as I want a garden vac/ blower but have already bought one and used it for the first time today but I’m sure I will find something to buy with the voucher.
What I really want for Christmas is to be pain free as I have a 12mm kidney stone which keeps giving me intense pain

Every year I ask people not to buy me anything at all, I tell them to pay it off their credit card bill or whatever, however this doesn't give them that addictive feeling of purchasing a gift and then someone telling them they love it even though its a total POS and its going to charity the minute they've left. They'd rather have their smug satisfaction granted even though it causes me anxiety and fills my house with st.

Gift giving is such a selfish act.

A nubile 19 year old nymphomaniac who vanishes in a puff of smoke on new years eve, by which time I'd be an empty husk of a man.

A new rescue German Shepherd from RNIB but that makes me selfish as it would have to fail the training and would leave some blind person without a new guide dog.

Missing our old girl though and won't be the same without a pooch at Xmas cry

My wife and 3 children sat around the dinner table with me.

Mrs T was diagnosed with a Grade 4 (the baddest, angriest type) brain tumour last month so having the family together to have some laughs and play a few games is sufficient.

Sorry to put a downer on this thread...

For my Birthday my wife got me a day at a Blacksmiths with my Son (he’s 24) - Properly hot/hard graft, with Son, Pub Lunch, followed by evening meal in the pub for all of us - Absolute Heaven!

As for Christmas tat, I tend to save up a list of the tools that I’ve broken over the year and send the list out for replacement :-)

Spent today with my wife visiting our 23 year old daughter in a local ICU.

She is very ill with Pancreatitis and other complications.

We just want her home for Christmas...

So sorry for your news Tweenster - that is truly awful
