Amazing story, but building a garage in a garden is probably bordering on stupidity when I have a more than adequate log cabin present.
Many Thanks though for the unbelievable advice
It is not adequate though because it is too cold. I'd still burn it down though and as a compromise maybe just build a short wall with a urinal on it in the garden?
And Garages aren't too cold?! Bit of a weird comment fella.
If youre prepared to burn your hard earned cash as a compromise....il leave it there.

Any real life experiences in maintaining a more efficient heating solution welcome.

I'd personally go for an A/C heat pump unit which heats very efficiently and has the added bonus of cooling in the summer, when no doubt the cabin gets rather hot.

My workshop is just connected to the house central heating system. It was originally built as a detached garage, then converted to living space and connected to the house, then reconverted by me back into a workshop. It is most delightful, warm, well lit and I can wander in there in my slippers straight from the house.

Obviously this plan only works if the garage is close to the house but is fairly straightforward if so.

One of my man caves.

TV, internet, heat, cars to play with and no one bothers me!

My other cave has a triple screen gaming rig with tv above monitoring the house, a roland TD-10 mesh head drum kit and a table for doing modelling on (no not me, cars etc).

Builders are starting on my garage conversiohttps://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/post.asp?h=0&f=210&t=1844994&r=41142805&m=quoteOne#faceboxMastern on 6th January. So far my man cave ideas are pretty standard. I have Hi-Fi, sofa, pool table, dart board, big TV and beer fridge. I think I need some big Neon signs in the outline of a stripper or something to add that touch of class.
converting your garage?? redcard

I’m lucky. When they build the housing estate, ours was a show home so the original double garage was built from new as a room for the sales office. They then built a double garage to the side.

Pool table, cinema screen, sound system, recliner seats, a bar and some free weights make it mine.

I've just purchased this for the man cave... no need for it as a replacement part, I just thought it looked like some 'proper' engineering!

Mines a bit smaller than that but I couldn't agree more.

The only and correct answer is a large well tooled up garage.

One with a four post lift and a urinal on the wall would be the holy grail.
Real men can hold it or piss on the neighbour's Leylandii
I’ve got a sink in my garage....

I live in a converted bungalow which means that what was a single bedroom downstairs is now my office/man cave. In turn it is full of the most nerdy things I could possibly find.

I have a fine collection of Lego (mostly Star Wars) and various other film memorabilia. I managed to acquire a 1m tall talking Darth Vader, quite pleased with my Stormtroopers as well....

At some point next year the entire room will be redone, new cabinets along with a TV/Xbox set up as well.
Haha pretty much, although I've fathered two kids so definitely not flying the V plates!

To be honest it all stays in one room, I wouldn't imagine anyone needs to see an 18" Jason Voohrees in the living room.

That's better - I was beginning to despair at all the playrooms being called Man Caves.
