M7. Love the quirkyness,

Unless of course we're not just talking metric, in which case, i just love BA!
BA is a metric thread.

I’m rather fond of M10 x 1.0

My favourite is cycle related, Italian bottom bracket thread = M36 x 26 tpi

How they came up with that I’ll never now. Both sides right hand thread, too. Weird.

Interestingly, the longest thread on PH is the Liverpooooool FC one running at Vol 19 currently.

Which is nice.

That's 19 x 500 x 20 = 190,000 things that PH users have felt obliged to say about Liverpoooooool FC.

It maybe the longest but have you actually read the absolute bks they go on about? wink
It is nowhere near the longest thread on PH nono

TUSRTAYL is currently on Vol 38.

Favoutite thread has to be ACME. Any size.

26 t.p.i. is British Standard Cycle thread pitch. Here on eBay

I was using the old fashioned valve core caps from bicycles for a completely different purpose and needed the male part in aluminium to fit it. It emerged that the valves on the original cycle inner tubes had this weird thread type (5/16" at a guess).

You can't get more arcane than this though:
Some website or other said:
British Association (BA)

This is a metric thread system devised by the British for small screws used in components like speedos. Not metric like you might expect, but with diameters determined by a factor proportional to a power of the logarithm to the base 10 of the thread pitch in millimeters.

How does the bolt property change from an m20 x 2.5 vs 1.5 for example?
